No time for standing still!
DC shows great faith in his squad and if they step up, they will be rewarded! If not, a few will be rewarded with careers in L2.
Up the Gas!

Do fans really turn up at the Mem hoping we win a few home games to achieve a mid table finish come May, or hoping we win a number of home games and will at least make another Play Off challenge?
The problem with aiming for a mid table finish is if you under achieve you finish up in a relegation battle, aim for top 6 and under achieve and you should still finish comfortably in mid-table. Although you do wonder whether the present squad is good enough to challenge at the right end of the table without signing some more quality players.

I don't think anyone would really aim for a mid-table finish, but some people would certainly accept a mid-table finish after 2 successive promotions.
We are at our correct level now imo and I feel we wont be able to live in the Championship without the right infrastructure in place (ie stadium which will bring in more daily income and make us more sustainable).
If Wael isn't opening the chequebook now then why would he in the Championship?

...If Wael isn't opening the chequebook now then why would he in the Championship? Because the manager is telling him he doesn't need to yet - at least beyond better deals for the existing squad and a few additions. Evolution not revolution is not just a catch phrase, it is the investment strategy. Why spend £2 when £1 will get you the same result. I don't expect it, but if things go wrong in the first half of the season, then I would expect additions in the January window. If and when we get to the Championship, we would (pretty obviously) need further investment in improving the quality of the playing squad.

Just seen the latest article in the post about DC once again telling the players his expectations again, how it's sink or swim and wants the players in the mind set of top six contenders again.
However personally after the past 3 years, I think I'd love nothing more than just a comfortable boring mid table finish.
Mentally, physically and financially the Rovers have drained me, and although a promotion/relegation battle does get the heart beating, I think until we (if we) relocate, mid-table consolidation would be a dream and then push on once real plans for UWE have been drawn up.
Still I suspect I'm alone on this front but more than happy to take criticism for what is quite a pessimistic view haha. Balls to this...... give me a 50/50 chance of promotion or relegation and I'll take it. I'm loving the last day of the season tension, good and bad.

I would imagine that a fan turns up at a home game firstly wanting the team to win ,secondly for their to be lots of. Goals and shots from BRFC .Thirdly for the game to be entertaining with a good atmosphere ,fourthly that it won't rain !
Would you take 9th place with half the points coming away from home or 16th without a home loss but a few draws thrown in with lots of home wins but a rubbish away form ?
Bournemouth have a similar size stadium to BRFC would their fans prefer to be comfortable back in league one whilst they look to get a bigger stadium ??
Get promoted then worry about what comes with that. Besides rovers would only manage one season in the championship......they would be in the prem the next season :-P

If Wael isn't opening the chequebook now then why would he in the Championship? well if wael is serious about a new ground, developing the academy and a new training ground it might mean the team investment is aimed at a middling playing budget for league 1 until the other stuff is well and truly in motion? if the team can push for promotion on such a budget great if not great as well. the little niggling worry for most us is getting sucked into a relegation battle in a league where 4 teams go down. i would settle for 11th or anything above that.
