Player Ratings are back for another season. Same as last season, if you were at the game rate the players from 1-10 and other factors as well if you want.
I realised that I never uploaded last season's spreadsheet to this forum so I'll add it to the season thread soon.

Thought overall we played well and we were certainly the better team until they equalised. I think the final score was a bit harsh and a draw or 2-1 defeat more reflective
Mildenhall . 7 Thought he played well and made a couple of good saves. Their first two goals were great strikes and for the third he had little cover as we were pushing forward
Leadbitter 5. Looked lost to me, neither much of a threat going forward or offered much in the way of defending J. Clarke 7. Considering he was the middle of three centre halves and operating as a sweeper [ a new role for him?] I thought he read the game well and made a number of timely interceptions Lockyer 7.5 Looked class, great tackles and positioning. Hartley 6.5 Solid, very much a Mark McCrystal type performance Brown 6.5 Steady both going forward and at the back. Its what you get week in week out.
O. Clarke .5 The early booking did him no favours. Can't say he played badly but I don't feel he added anything to our performance Sinclair 6. The usual hardworking performance. Doesn't give opposition time to play the pass they want to play. Lines 7 Thought he played well. Tackled back and was always probing. It was not the right midfield mix for him, needed a Mansell to work with him
Taylor . 7 You can tell his confidence is high and he playing with a swagger. Great goal and always looking to create. Gaffney 6 Worked hard, but was given a hard time by their centre back. That said his constant running creates space for those round him. For me, he has no rapport with Taylor, they just don't look for each other.
Subs: Harrison 5 Didn't offer a threat Montano 5.5 Would like to have seen him earlier. Showed his strength and pace on a couple of occasions Bodin 5.5 In his short time on pitch, he showed his skills in the penalty area and had one shot across face of goal
Crowd 9 Great turnout, kept singing throughout game Ref 4 A real homer, some poor decisions Scunthorpe 7 We made the look ordinary in first half but they scored two great goals and have potential to have a decent season

Mildenhall 4 could have done better with 2nd and 3rd goals. Slow off his line for the ball over the top on occasions. 1 good save and some good catches.
Leadbitter 4 little quality going forward seemed to be shackled defensively. J. Clarke 5 did his job without any dramas . Lockyer 5 Won his battle in the air was stretched last 30 mins maybe could have got closer. Hartley 5 seemed assured and confident lacked sharpness for me. Brown 5 good on the ball but largely ineffective going forward.
O. Clarke 5 Put a shift in but lacked quality. Sinclair 5 Put a shift in but lacked quality. Lines 5 Put a shift in but lacked quality.
Taylor 6 MOM Started as he left off last season linked up well but starved of service. Gaffney 6 Ran his socks off faded 2nd half.
Subs: Harrison 4 Montano 4 Bodin 4
Crowd 8 great turnout given the distance. Ref 2 shockingly bad and favoured home team. Scunthorpe 7 we matched them but quality going forward last 30 mins did us. We need to add quality to avoid losing battles like this.
