They are genuine season ticket holders who are on hols and will be home in time to travel to Chelsea! I think what AlfaGas is getting at is that they will impose a blanket rule of "no voucher no ticket" as otherwise you will inevitably get some chancers trying their luck claiming to have a ticket or using other people's names on their behalf etc.
Rather than genuine ST holders like your friends.
It is a shame though, you'd have thought a better system could be implemented so easily. I live 2 hours from Bristol and so getting to the ground in person isn't the easiest when working 9-5 as well.

Am i the only one who thinks £25 is to much for a 2nd round league cup match? and chelsea are one club i dont fancy giving £25 to, so thats one ticket more for anyone getting excited about this game. Yeap seems your the only one. No worries, been there got the tee shirt, dont really get the buzz like in the late 70s and 80s, games changed and i for one wont be ripped off these days, save me cash for swindle. utg

Am I being unreasonable here? Two season ticket holder mates are currently on their holidays and arrive back next Monday! The only hope of getting their vouchers is to break in to their respective houses!!! Just phoned the club shop and told no voucher, no ticket! I explained the situation and was hoping that they are on a data base and could be cross-referenced. I have texts from both of them giving me the nod to get a ticket. Expected a different response to be honest than no voucher, no ticket and we only have 4,000 tickets! What's the price of a couple of windows just tell the cop's your friends said it was OK Maybe a couple of hours in the cells but jobs a goodun Oh!maybe not the friendly local police might have those taser things 🚔👮

Just tried to book two tickets on the halfway line on Chelsea's website.
The application was rejected because of my BS postcode. I phoned them and said I am a partially disabled 68 year old and cannot stand for 2 x 45 minutes but still no go.
The alternative is to get my nephew, with an E11 postcode to buy the tickets or have hospitality at £180 each, which I will not do.
So I think you can order tickets online in the home supporters area PROVIDE your credit or debit card does NOT have a BS postcode.

Rex was offering hosptality at £65 with free bar somewhere on here if that helps, maybe pm him.

So anyway.... For Supporters Club Members ringing up on Friday at 9.00am... If I have two SC members names and two SC members numbers, will they sell me two and post them? that will be an interesting one. In the last few seasons they have been very rigorous in asking you to send the SC membership card into them. HOWEVER they often send the tkts before they've got the cards. Problem with this match is the short time frame / post, even if they don;t ask you to send in the cards. Things will be interesting!

sorry if this has been mentioned before. I did try to look through this thread on a slow computer and couldn't find any sign of it on 5 pages or so.
anyway...
Chelsea don't always sell out for these type of matches (early Lge Cup rounds and early European rounds), but in the last few years they have been. A caveat is that they often come into the Lge Cup in the 3rd round, so this season is earlier for them.
It is really hard to tell if Chelsea will sell out, which maybe leaves a possibility of us getting more tickets? Very tight timeframe as well to sell tkts, summer holidays etc.
Chelsea website is interesting. They are on general sale now. Our tickets are in the corner of the shed, upper and lower, but only tickets in the Upper section are on sale to Chelsea fans at the mo. As an aside their map suggests away section is 4,500.
Shed holds 6,582 overall.
Following info given there
Displaced Season Ticket Holders
"As Bristol Rovers have taken 4000 tickets and due the shortness of time there will be no separate selling day for the displaced season ticket holders to purchase a ticket. However displaced season ticket holders can purchase any of the available seats not taken by a season ticket holder. Approximately 1000 tickets will be available in the Shed End upper that were not allocated to Bristol Rovers. "

I remember when we struggled to give away tickets to a Rovers match 😀 I remember being among one man and a gashead at Leeds Rd in 1993 on a massive old terrace. Ok, I exaggerate but whole crowd was less than 6,000. Wyc last season anyone? 3,243.

This is the first time they've not qualified for European competition in what, 20 years? It could be (very unlikely but...) their only cheaper game at home this season. From a fan's perspective I could see why they may make more of an effort knowing that. European games are a guaranteed number (3 at least usually) so more supply. They've not had to qualify for Europe either for a while, and those are the only European games which happen in August i.e. during summer holidays. Wonder if a cheaper game in August will entice a few more families. Really tough to judge but wouldn't be surprised if Chelsea sold a decent number in the home end.

Let's hope chelsea do sell loads for this, league cup revenue splits are more generous than the fa cup. 45% each. Could be looking at 250k for a 35k plus crowd.

I went to Lge Cup match at Arsenal a few yrs ago for £20. I know that others do this, and these cheap, available games obviously bring out lots of casuals, people on a budget, even tourists who just happen to be in London and find out they can see a top, top club cheapy.

If people are looking at how to get to the Chelsea game next tuesday National Express have fairly cheap coaches running from the coach station to London victoria. Victoria is only a short tube journey away from stamford bridge and the latest coach back leaves at 23:59 which allows plenty of time after the game to get to the station (assuming there isn't extra time and pens). At the moment you could probably get a return ticket for around £20 but I would imagine they'll go quick when people get their match day tickets! Megabus currently doing a £17 return, The last one back is 23:30, but that will be easily late enough.

My Chelsea supporting friend reckons they'll definitely sell out, as cheap mid week football is a rarity for their fans/tourists.
I assume if Chelsea thought they wouldn't sell out then they would have given us at least 5,000 tickets?
