I will get the results from the Cardiff match up shortly. Mildenhall 7 did what he had to do,couple of handling errors but kept them out J. Clarke 7.5 very solid and still improving Lockyer 7 defended well was up against a lively striker McChrystal 8 won nearly all his challenges, backed off a bit much for the goal but still a good well placed shot Brown 8 defended well very calm, got forward when he could Bodin 5 not Billy's day O. Clarke 8 great effort and much better decision making Lines 8.5 over ran the ball a couple of times but looked the best midfielder on show Montano 7 kept going a mixed bag with the final delivery, but well worth his place Easter 8 great first half, control and passing capped with a great goal Gaffney 5 not at his best, needs a goal Subs: Harrison 5 umm..so inconsistant Taylor 8 looked a class act against tirering defenders James 5 not much chance to show much Crowd 8 Ref 3 seemed to get worse as the game went on Oxford 6 not as good as last season on that showing

Mildenhall 7 Couple of good saves. Kicking much better today.
J. Clarke 7 Solid again, improving all the time. Lockyer 7 Defended well as usual, distribution unusually poor. McChrystal 8 Won almost every aerial ball and was a brick wall. Brown 7.5 Defended very well.
Bodin 5.5 Little impact. O. Clarke 8 Very good today. Lines 8 MOM Ran and ran. Dominated the midfield. Montano 7 Some good crosses, as well as some horrendous ones. Steadily improving, though.
Easter 8 Took his goal well. Never loses possession. Gaffney 4 Missed some easy chances as well as an air-shot. Desperately needs a goal.
Subs: Harrison 6 ?!?! Taylor 8 Brilliant. James 5 Unable to make an impact on the wing.
Crowd 8 Ref 2. And that's generous. He gave dodgy decisions for and against both teams. Oxford 5 Dreadful first half. Decent 2nd.

Mildly 4
J Clarke 7 Lockyer 6 Mmc 6 Brown 7
Montano 7 Lines 7 Clarke 6 Bodin 4
Gafney 7 Easter 8
Taylor 8 James 7 Harrison 6
Clarke 6
I was not as convinced as some at this performance. Oxford looked coherent and fluid in their final third and gave us some real problems. They were a fairly conventional English league side in as much as they went for the channels and were organised. On another day we could have easily been 2 down at HT but not to dismiss our chances....but I felt Oxford shaded the first half, not in terms of possession and territory but in the quality in the final third.
Lines and mildenhall engaged in a shouting match for that chance and I belive this was down to the fact mildly basically chickened out of the challenge and didn't throw his body in there, in which case I agree with lines, although I still support and believe in mildenhall - actually if he is losing concentration a little as he did today, a missed chance is the best reminder - a goal could have destroyed his confidence as he would see how he lost his nerve and was at fault.
I like montano and his delivery - flat crosses hit hard, but decision making was suspect at times and could have delivered more. Bodin was lost but I think he is a player who will shine against better, footballing teams.
Lockyer didn't play as good as he has, then whole back four didn't play great but J Clarke had some good moments.
We need another DMF, a really good one, to play 442 really well. Also some more real pace would help

I will get the results from the Cardiff match up shortly. Mildenhall 6 .5 a better game today, did little wrong J. Clarke 7 a solid display Lockyer 6.5 he had his work cut out today. McChrystal 7 backed off for the goal but very strong in the air Brown 7 a good steady game, I think he plays better with Monty in front of him Bodin 5.5 ineffective today O. Clarke 6.5 good and bad in equal measures but always gives 100% Lines 8.5 M.o.M ran himself into the ground Montano 8 a good game,he gives the team balance Easter 7 a well taken goal Gaffney 5 I,m still waiting for the real Rory Gaffney to return from his holidays Subs: Harrison 6 an improvement on Gaff but not as good as the other night Taylor 8.5 I thought about giving him m.o.m but as he only played for 45 mins i decided against it but he hardly put a foot wrong James 6 quite bright and had a hand in the winner Crowd 8 good turn out on a hot Sunday Ref 3 he reminded me of the Conference refs, petty and inconsistent Oxford 6 they had their moments but generally second best

Mildenhall 7 Still a decent keeper on this performance
J.Clarke 7 Solid defensively, and good link up. Lockyer 6 Below par, got done for their goal and lucky the Ref didn't see the handball. McChrystal 7 Usual steady game Brown 7 Consistant
Bodin 6 Worked hard enough but no magic today O Clarke 8 Relished 442 close to MoM Lines 8.5 MoM Got booked for trying to recover a mistake, apart from that top class Montano 6.5 Quick and tricky, if only the shots and crosses were a little better
Easter 8 Very good goal, troubled Oxford a lot Gaffney 6 Opposition can't ignore him, but missed two decent chances
Subs Taylor 8 Really glad Oxford didn't get him Harrison 6 Probably better than 6 but I was mesmarised by Taylor James 6 Had a hand in the winner.
Ref If I were an Oxford fan I would give a 2 so he's worth 4 Oxford, They looked like last season, but we are better now.
Overall I was impressed by Rovers, they have stepped up to L1 pace and look slicker.

Mildenhall 7 did what he had to do. Distribution better
J. Clarke 7 solid Lockyer 7 solid McChrystal 8 won nearly all his challenges, and helped out Browner once when beaten
Bodin 4.5. Not at his best O. Clarke 7 decent performance Lines 8.5 Immense today IMO Montano 7 tricky skillful player. Final product often not quite there
Easter 8 Vey good in the first half. Deserved his goal Gaffney 5 struggling a bit
Subs: Harrison 5.5 Worked hard but not always to great effect Taylor 8 Caused them lots of problems and got the winner James 5 looked okay
Crowd 8
Ref 3 Poor Oxford 6.5 May have just shaded the first half. Faded in second. Not helped by sending off
