Hi all you music fans.
Help needed here. A dear friends has recently died and had requested his family play some Rachmaninov music at his funeral as it was associated with the Rovers. No its not a version of Goodnight Irene so no jokes there please. I've played a few extracts from youtube and nothing ring true to me
Any ideas??? Thanks

The only vaguely classical bit of music I can think of is the trumpet(?) bit that rolls into the start of Hi Ho Silver Lining as part of the build up music.
No idea what it is taken from though...
The guy who does the music at the Mem is called Lance and is on Twitter at @livewire79 so he may be worth an ask.
Sorry to hear about your friend.

What era is this from?
The only classical sort of stuff I can recall us playing is O Fortuna, Carmina Burana by Orff, and Prokofiev's Dance of the Knights.

That's Fanfare for the Common Man by Emerson, Lake and Palmer, and composed by Aaron Copland. Can't work out the Rachmaninov link at all.

The best known pop song based on a Rachmaninoff piece is All By Myself by Eric Carmen, or Celine Dion if you must. Not sure this has any sort of Rovers connection.
