what a lovely cameo on a proud night for our noisy fans at chelsea,,,70 year old ex chelsea star doing a lap of honor at stamford bridge and getting the biggest ovation of all from bristol rovers fans in the away end !!!! it was a lovely touch by our fans as only some of us can remember what a great player he was and he was clearly touched and well chuffed by the reception he got from gasheads.

Back in the 80s i was in the ticket office at highbury midweek, dead quite in office, the lady working there was busy so i stood waiting, with that whos head popped around the corner, yeah john hollins, said hello then stood talking to me for five minutes till lady was free, really nice bloke, no ego and something that i will always remember.

It was good to see. All in all, it was a good night to be a Rovers fan, and for me, the applause given to Hollins played a part in that.

As a Chelsea fan, top respect to the travelling Gas for that. Of course I'm glad we progressed in the competition but it was also good that sort of support was rewarded by an impressive performance with goals thrown in. The little fella with the big beard, Sinclair? bossed Matic in the midfield. Far from disappointment, they should take heart from that defeat especially since Chelsea had, bar Courtois and Costa, their strongest possible team on the pitch at the end. All the best for the season.

Loving the comments about the Beard from the press and Chelsea fans. Hopefully it will give him that bit of extra confidence to know he belongs up a level. He is still learning the game, tactically, but that engine is always going to be a major asset.

The result didn't really matter as long as the boys gave it a 'right good go'. & I think they did.
