My Womble mate says we've got a cracking keeper here.

Sounds very promising , surely he had to go in straight at number 1 ?

Never heard a keeper before, when asked for his strengths, to mention his kicking first.
Hopefully he's not like one of those pub team keepers who once a game, has to try to dribble it out from the back and beat two or three men.

So never mind that Mildenhall has been excellent this season, and am guessing you have never seen the new keeper play, or if you have once or twice at best, you think he must come straight in at number 1.........why is that exactly??

Don't get too excited, more of a Nicholls than a Mildenhall Which is based on what? He seemed a decent goalie for the Dons last season and given he's 6'5" you'd hope he wouldn't be beaten by any shot hit from distance, which was Nicholls failing. Sounds more Chapman than Nicholls to me.

Whether you like it or not mildy is not the keeper he was , I'm a big fan of the big man but let's be honest here , he is almost garunteed to make a mistake every game and at this level we will get punished, he also for some reason or other seems to be super glued to his line, and if I'm being picky at times his positional sense is questionable. I have only seen Roos play once and that was against us and he seemed , quick off his line and was very vocal to his defenders. I have also been browsing the forums for other fans opinions and views and the new man seems to have very good reviews , young up and coming keeper fits the criteria for what we are trying to achieve.

I don't remember him making any mistakes at Chelsea, against much better opposition. In fact, he kept us in it with a few decent saves and quick reactions! I've said before that id like us to bring in competition as I don't see Puddy as good enough for this level and I'm glad we've done that but why would you drop Mildy when he hasn't made any mistakes since Scunny? The position should be his until his performances gives DC reason for concern, which recently, he hasn't.

Again I'm not disputing that he doesn't make good saves as he does , but in my opinion the second goal Chelsea scored he didn't make an attempt to get Down, I think the goal scored by Bolton where it took a deflection he could of done better, and I also think the goal that Oxford scored was down to bad positional sense. Also I don't see why Roos would come here to play second fiddle to anyone as he had just won a promotion to the same division with the Dons, I think mildy is a top guy and has been a loyal servant to us but as we know to well there is no room for sentiment in football.

I think your being a bit harsh with some of those goals. The Bolton goal took a big deflection and the Oxford goal went in off the post. Both goals could have been avoided but Mildy wasn't to blame for either. I've not seen enough of Roos to judge him if I'm honest and I'm sure he will get his chance to impress but to drop Mildy whens he's played well for the best part of the last year for a player unproven at this level and who only arrived a couple days before Swindon seems a strange call.

If nothing else it will give Mildenhall stiff competition for his place and keep him on his toes, something Puddy can't seem to do, plus also perhaps line up his replacement for next season?

The only persons opinion about Mildenhall's current ability that matters is Darrell Clarke's, maybe also Stuart Naylor's, and I highly doubt Nigel Pearson loaned us a 24 year old goalkeeper only for them to sit on the bench behind a 38 year old in the pecking order.

Michel Kuipers played for us in goal during 1999/2000 Oh god dont say that. I was at Bournemouth for the game at about that time and he was awful. No one had any confidence in him, we only lost 1-0 but it could have been 5 or 6. Mind you he went on to have a good career at Brighton.
