Don't get too excited, more of a Nicholls than a Mildenhall Which is based on what? He seemed a decent goalie for the Dons last season and given he's 6'5" you'd hope he wouldn't be beaten by any shot hit from distance, which was Nicholls failing. Sounds more Chapman than Nicholls to me. 2 questions with 1 answer who is his parent club and who do I scout for?

But the question is Padstow.....Are you a better judge of a goalkeeper than you are a manager??

never been a manager but have been a professional and a scout at some big clubs, but the information I quoted was not my opinion but of those at his parent club. These people see him regularly and do not base their opinions on just 1 performance

Seems a strange thing to do?

Michel Kuipers played for us in goal during 1999/2000 Oh god dont say that. I was at Bournemouth for the game at about that time and he was awful. No one had any confidence in him, we only lost 1-0 but it could have been 5 or 6. Mind you he went on to have a good career at Brighton.

I was at Bournemouth for Kuipers' one and only first team appearance . I think the biggest cheer went up when he eventually managed to kick the ball strait and it didn't go directly out for a throw in!! But as you say he had a pretty good career at Brighton.

Yes, I'd forgotten that particular incident, him kicking the ball straight, but remember it now. Thinking about it now just reminds me of how embarrassing that match was for him.
