Yep, may be another boring thread, but anyone else think we weren't that loud last night? Poor acoustics, lack of general sale, I don't know. Hardly any banter with the chelsea fans in the shed. Terry got off lightly.
One frustration is how we never manage to belt out Irene in time with each other at the big games. Always about 3 different versions going at once. Never feel we do ourselves justice.
Perhaps time to slow the fecking song down like it should be?

i was to the right of you, in the top tier you were very loud, pretty much all the way through the match. their "fans" were certainly impressed.

Seemed loud to me too - I had to shout in the missus's ear to be heard for most of the game (normally she's making my ears bleed)

In big stadiums like Stamford Bridge it really is hard to get everyone singing a particular chant or song at the same time unless it is a big anthem type one like Irene. So like Chelsea and 'Carefree' these particular songs get flogged to death. It's a problem at all Chelsea home games with different groupings all singing something different at the same time and it just becomes a mess. Clubs could be a bit more pro-active by selling tickets in such a way that the more vocal fans at home can be seated together at away matches. Saying that, Rovers were well loud at times and I was down the other end.

Certainly heard you all clearly at the other end. Chelsea beside us were very confused by the "One Team in Bristol", they actually didn't know there are two.... Not much singing from Chelsea though.

It was loud up on the top tier.
It does get boring singing Goodnight Irene so many times though, and we were having a chat about the good old days at Twerton, both home and away where, you'd hardly sing the same song twice, let along 10 times in one match! Not sure what the answer is though as just seems to be the same 3 or 4 songs these days.

Seems I'm firmly in the minority then! Did have a few Chelski mates who said they could barely hear us but have yet to establish if they are just being jealous.
Just had the feel of a pre-season friendly cos of the heat, lack of atmosphere from the home fans etc.
Thoroughly enjoyed myself though and was proud leaving.

When GI is sung over and over its half assed some of the time as not everyone joins in. 3-4 belting volumes per game would go down much better IMO. Quality over quantity would have a better impact for our trademark song. P.S. Everyone was buzzing at the Bridge and the atmosphere was brilliant.

I love it when we sing GI well just after conceding. I loved it for the first goal that they had just scored but we were louder.

There were a few tunes in the concourse that would have been great out in the seats 'Mildenhall - Wonderwall' 'We sent the **** to Scunthorpe' No lyrics and its a old tune but huddled low in circle then jump around a lot. There is footage from Chelsea & Oxford doing the rounds.

I guess it depends where you were sitting. I was in Upper East Stand next to the away end and the Gas choir was very loud. Well done to all who made the trip and sang - it made for a great occasion. Matty's perfect ball over the top for the non-stop Stu to run onto was one for the memory bank! Roll on Saturday and another big turnout at Swindon - UtG.
