Anyone from Reading last night in midfield?!?! I would take their No 42, great holding midfield player who could pass a ball, unlike ours last night Please stop talking about the game. I didn't give you permission to go, so not interested in your opinion. Scab. Love Balders. Xx

A central midfield of the unfit Liam Lawrence and the "Ill pass it anywhere other than forward" Sinclair was never going to create much and any midfielder from the opposition would look better than ours. Can't believe that we played wingers but then played a central midfield partnership that was never going to create anything for them.

The DC quote from the other day makes me think there's as much chance of us losing existing players as gaining new ones.
If we don't strengthen, I guess bottom half to mid table would be a decent outcome at the end of the season. However part of me (okay, a lot of me) would be disappointed we didn't show a bit more ambition in the transfer market, because with a couple quality additions we could've had another fun-filled season striving for a play-off spot.
Perhaps Wael should have put the record straight from the outset when some fans and the local media were labelling him a "billionaire" to lay down some realistic expectations, rather than replying with "oh come now, behave" etc.

Stoke seem to be on a signing spree. Can't see Sir Rickie getting much game time now - perhaps he is the one we are waiting for after all

Without some quality in midfield I fear it's going to be a long season unless Mansell suddenly returns to fitness.

I'm not sure he's ever played in L1? If he has at least 90% of his career has been in L2 or the Conference. If he wasn't good enough for L1 at 24/25 I can't see why he would be at 34. Unfortunately I think he's going to spend much of the season out injured with Lawrence anyway.

DC said he is after his number one target expect to be as I was in 1976 when I didn't get a chopper for Xmas, disappointed! LOL mine was circa early 80's when I really wanted a BMX and my bloody dad led me to a neighbour's shed to reveal... a... racer! That is probably my only clear regret of childhood, being an ungrateful brat for that day. Soz dad.

If we win our next game which is at home and very winnable then we'll have w 2 d1 l 2 and we'll be smack bang in mid table which I think will have been a good start. Not necessarily. The others will have played two more games than us by then so there is no guarantee we will be in any particular position of relative comfort.

I had very similar, all year all I was banging on about was how much I wanted a pair of roller skates so I could go skating with my mates at robin cousins sports centre on a Saturday night I must of been about 10 , Christmas Day came , one last big parcel to open , ripped open the box and to my absolute horror my parents had bought me a pair of inline skates!

Ok but what I mean is 2 wins and a draw and two defeats is a mid table start after 5 games And not too bad at a all. I'm still confident we'll be ok this season.

I have a reliable source, but don't know the names of the players. Think they are Premiership youngsters from what I have been told.
