Some Sh1!heads today were claiming they were a bigger club than Sheffield United and Coventry, where do they get there scandalous delusions of grandeur from? Um 82ers play-off place in the Championship, Sheff Utd & Cov near bottom of league 1. All 3 stadiums much of a muchness, City on the up, the other 2 hoping to stay up. Id hardly call that delusions of grandeur. Course it is. Sheffield United have won League titles, FA Cups, and have spent 67 years in the top flight, have always had far superior support than City, have pretty much always played at a higher level than City, they are a far bigger club in every aspect. Coventry had 40 odd uninterupted years playing in the top flight and have won an FA Cup, again have pretty much always played at a higher level than City(bar the last couple of years), likewise have always been far better supported than City. City may have a better team at present than those 2 clubs, but they are no way bigger. I suppose Bournemouth are a bigger club than Villa, Newcastle, Leeds and Forest? Are Burton a bigger club than Portsmouth or Luton? Of course they're not.

Now that is one big ugly fcuker, but we love you Not sure that the kit cupboard had a shirt large enough to fit him - hence the reason for him only holding it in front of him.
Also not sure about the "ugly" part. Even if I did think it, I am not sure that I would come out and say it

Message from a Chelsea-supporting mate of mine (Londoner!), who has seen Colkett play "20+ times":
"He's fairly lightweight, maybe too lightweight to play in a 2-man midfield unless you have a good defensive player next to him, but he's perfect for a 3-man midfield and I think you lot will absolutely love him.
He's very comfortable and calm in possession, and his vision, touch and passing will be a level above that league. He does get stuck in when he can, but it's on the ball that he'll shine.
Got a powerful strike on him for a small lad, so he chips in with the odd goal here and there, and will likely get you a decent amount of assists if he's allowed to get forward.
A lot of people here fully expect him to be pushing for a first-team spot a few years down the line, so you've got yourself a good one."

More successful yes, not bigger. You can't judge a clubs size just on there league standing. You have to take history and amount of fans etc into account as well. I'm sorry but as much as I dislike the city they are on par with both of those clubs.Sheff utd and coventry have better history's then the 82ers but if all three were in the premier they all would be getting the same kind of crowds. As city are in a far better position then the other two right now it's not a invailed point. We ourselfs once in the UWE have the same potential as those three also. Coventry were/are looking to build a new much smaller stadium, their glory days seem to be way behind them now. www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/planned-new-coventry-city-stadium-11355692

Whoever sanctioned that needs shooting. That would of been us had Higgs UWE deal came off.

This isn't a moan, and its the same for many other clubs, but why do clubs seem to wait until the last minute to get the loanee's in? Surely they have been available all season?

We have gone from "I expect to have another 2 in by Wednesday" last week to "I am working through my list of targets. Some managers are going to panic buy but I'm not going to panic. I expect there will be a couple of bids for some of my players but I will resist those" In other words I think, from the comments made by the 2 loans that they probably weren't first choice for their positions. DC is now exhausting the possibilities and is at the "well, I suppose he would be better than nothing but not even my third choice really" end of the list. I don't think we'll sign anyone else and it will be spun as a success if none of our players go. I think it will prove interesting if the Sh1t try and sign anyone today. Any club they approach is going to do everything in its power to extract as large a chunk of that 11 mill from SS Steves sweaty hands. I wonder how. much they had to pass to Angers in selling on fees? Shows how much I know. From DC's comments in the Evil we have been working on these deals for several weeks! I should have known better and left it to the experts. Shot up the arse and blown out of the water springs to mind here! Oooh err missus!

What tremendous signings, absolutely brilliant, I cannot believe we have managed to land two of Chelseas best youngsters for the remainder of the season, capped off with a brute of midfielder from Palace until January 17, happy days. UTG

Portsmouth get 15-16,000 averages in league two . Sheffield united get 17-19,000 averages in league one . Coventry city get about the same sort of crowds as Bristol city .being kind to BCFC . Sheffield united did a similar slide from the top flight to the bottom division about the same time BCFC did.....however Sheffield united averaged over 14,000 in div four but BCFC averaged 7000 . BCFC are currently performing more successfully than Sheffield united divisionally but they are going to need to average significantly more than 19,000 this season to have any chance of being considered bigger ! In the future BCFC may become a bigger club....but that's all hypothetical.
