Makes total sense for Chelsea to loan Colkett to us .Playing alongside The Beard will definitely improve his game.Fear The Beard .....UTG

Great bit of business getting those two Chelsea lads on loan. Of course it's never a certainty that excellent youth players will make the transition into quality first teamers too. But these two have been part of undoubtedly the best batch yet of Chelsea's dominant youth set-up. Clarke-Salter has been playing in teams above his age group for some time. In April, he and a couple of teammates became the first players since some of the Busby Babes, including Duncan Edwards, to be in three FA Youth Cup winning teams. Charlie Colkett is a very talented midfielder and superb passer. I recall him bossing the match in a Youth Cup game at Old Trafford, the opposition containing Marcus Rashford. Both have also been part of a UEFA Youth Cup winning sides of the last two years.

the 2 chelsea players havnt played any senior games and boateng about 20 so people shouldnt get carried away imo. the chelsea lads especially will have to be carefully handled while they find there feet in league football against players who know there way around the block. luckily we have some experienced players at the club and some great attitudes to help them along.

Glad they're season long too. Was a bit concerned that these 6 month deals could leave us short in the future.

For some reason people seem to think we have pulled off some sort of coup, I'm A little disappointed to be honest, 2 youth players with no league experience who's parent club will most likely still be paying there wages and another loan who has played 20 games in league 2.... Hardly pushing the boat out is it . I for one am hoping that weal is going to turn out to be the messiah we all hoped he was.

It has been pretty clear for some time that Wael isnt going to be throwing money around on players (and rightly so in my opinion). I think we are still a little way off being able to compete with the top teams in this league, but this season is all about stability. Look at Burton to see what can be achieved without spending silly money.

Boateng was a decent player for Plymouth last season so he seems a good signing, we'll just have to draw judgement on the other two when we've seen them play but DC seems to have signed 3 good players and 2 potentially decent ones.

So you don't think getting two highly rated players from Chelsea for a season and most likely not having to pay their wages is a coup?

Mate, youth players from Chelsea, especially as these seem to be good ones not dross, are generally much better than league one players. There was always one kid or perhaps two in school who were absolute mustard. Our team is full of these. Chelsea's kids are the best of the best of all of these kids. May take a while to get accustomed but I wager they will be utter class in ability terms. I would take these over grizzled journeymen any day - we have a fair bit of experience here now, and need some flair and quality - that's what is lacking

OTIB: On the other hand. Millions upon millions spent, tens of millions of debt having to be wrote off every year by daddy, Bristol Sport FC, they don't own "their" stadium, selling their best player to Championship rivals, despite stating they won't, and still a club that yo-yo between the Championship and League One. I honestly don't understand why they think they're so high and mighty. Some Sh1!heads today were claiming they were a bigger club than Sheffield United and Coventry, where do they get there scandalous delusions of grandeur from? Um 82ers play-off place in the Championship, Sheff Utd & Cov near bottom of league 1. All 3 stadiums much of a muchness, City on the up, the other 2 hoping to stay up. Id hardly call that delusions of grandeur.

Historically, Coventry and Sheff Utd are far bigger clubs.

Those two Chelsea players are very decent. Loftus cheek and Solanke were the two stars in that team. Tammy Abraham (4 goals this season) and Alex Kiwomya (3 goals this season) were up and comers like Colkett. Salter-Clarke is the jewel in the crown for Chelsea as its known decent CBs in English football are rare - he is so calm in defence it's freakish and plays the ball out better than Stones and in time will be on par with Rio. He had that ex-Fulham starlet now at Celtic Patrick Roberts in his pocket in the 2013–14 FA youth cup final. Can't wait to see him play in quarters.

I'm not standing up for the Sh1t, but your argument has more holes than a Nick Higgs contract. 150'years ago GB owned one third of the globe. We were the dominant trading, industrial and military power. Does that make us bigger than China, America or Germany are now? In football terms we would be in league 2 and they would all be Premier League teams regularly playing in the Champions league. Sheff.U, Coventry and Portsmouth are all capable of regrouping and climbing above The Sh1t and Burton, but at the moment they are the more successful and bigger teams.

Not putting too much pressure on him then To be fair I don't know much about the two kids from Chelsea, surprised others do but I hope they're as good as people are suggesting!
