What's the limit for the matchday squad?
We've got six now.

I believe it is 5. Out of that lot, I'd imagine it will be Roberts or James to miss out- more likely James.

5 can play. Lets be honest Roos had a shocker last night, so Mildy will be back in before long.

Youth loans don't count, think it's under 23s

But he was fantastic against Swindon, in a proper game where as last night was a fiasco so on that front he's played one proper game and was fantastic. I'm happy to see him play a few more before I decide whether he's better or worse than Mildy.

Roos looked sharp against Swindon . Nobody cares about what happened in what was effectively a friendly anyway .

Most players had a shocker last night. DC will not give up on him based on 1 game last night. If he really thought he would bring Mildy back in shortly then he would not have bothered bringing Roos in and certainly would not have dropped Mildy so quick. I personally don't think DC has given Mildy a fair chance at all but he has done it now so we have to accept that and give this new bloke our support. Certainly Peterhooper57 you must surely not come to a decision based on last night as you wouldn't have many players playing next game!!

Apparently loans can still play non first team games for their parent club as well

EFL Rules: Section 6 - Players52.4.1 A maximum of 5 Players registered on a Temporary Loan Transfer can be named in the Players listed on a team sheet for any individual match played under the auspices of The League. This maximum shall reduce to 4 Players where a Club names a Player on the team sheet who is registered on an Emergency Goalkeeper Loan; and 52.4.2 No Club may sign more than 4 Players on a Temporary Loan Transfer from another Club (or club) in any Season, of which no more than 2 Players may be over the age of 23. The deadline for determining a Player’s age in this respect shall be as at the 30th June prior to the Season in which the Temporary Loan Transfer is intended to take place. Any Temporary Loan Transfer which subsequently becomes a permanent transfer (which can occur any time during the period of the Temporary Loan Transfer) shall not count against a Club’s quota of such Temporary Loan Transfers for that Season. 52.6 Clubs shall be permitted to charge or pay a Loan Fee. The provisions of Regulation 49 shall apply in respect of the method of payment (and all associated matters relating thereto) of any Loan Fee save as follows: Read more at www.efl.com/global/section6.aspxI suppose the way around the rule would be to sign Luke James on a permanent basis from Peterborough

We have 6 temp loan signing 52.4.2 states no more than 4 per season. Something not adding up there? Is this last years rule not updated to this current season?

I think that's maximum of 4 from one club.

I believe it is 5. Out of that lot, I'd imagine it will be Roberts or James to miss out- more likely James. Roberts played virtually every game for Yeovil last season and was one of their Players of the Year, plus like Locks & Ellis is a Wales U21 player, I just can't see him joining us to not even get on the bench. I can see him replacing the so far poorly performing Leads at RB/RWB. It doesn't sounds like one of the Chelsea lads is fit anyway so that gives DC some breathing space.

so one person has decided that roos is crap so we dont need to play him one person has decided its ok as luke james will be the loan player left out and another has decided on the simple solution of signing james on a permanent deal to get around the too many loan problems??
3 very stupid posters imo you just couldnt make it up!!!
maybe im as stupid as they are because i dont like the fact we have 6 loans any more than 3 and it puts me off as i prefer rovers players to actually be rovers players.

I agree I'd rather we won promotion again with all Rovers players but it's not a perfect world. With the squad we had before the signings I think we'd have stayed up but now with the signings I think there's a good chance we'll be pushing for top six. Ultimately I'm happy if Rovers are winning and sad when we're losing and I've got faith in DC so I'm happy with the signings this season so far.
