Has signed a 2 year deal with City's greatest rivals. Paul Trollope trading the well-worn managerial tactic of signing his previous players.
There are 2 games where I would like Rickie to do the business. His main concern will be if Trollope's replacement will play him following the inevitable Christmas sacking.

Would love him to rediscover his form. His downturn since just after signing for Liverpool is very sad. Is it confidence or injury related as you'd have thought he would have been perfect for West Brom?

Fair point. Maybe not so much age, but he has a surprisingly high amount of miles on the clock. I just checked and he has made nearly 600 league appearances. I didn't think it would be anywhere near that many.

Yep but we know how they like to keep an eye on us and that most things posted on here appears on OTIB within seconds even though they don't care about us just hoping Lambert remains their nemisis and scores the winner v their greatest rivals lol cant help thinking that regardless of the fact they got Tampax Davidson they won't like the fact we signed the 3 quality players from Chelsea and Palace that probably should be looking to be playing regularly now in the championship

It seems like whatever we do there are always posts straight after talking about what the Sh1!heads will think of it. I personally couldn't care less if they take the water out of us or congratulate us on something.

I personally couldn't care less if they take the p**s out of us or congratulate us on something. Yeah, it's bloody weird. I can kinda understand them being obsessed with us, and trying to make something out of everything little thing that happens to us, and I can understand Gasheads reading it. But the idea that we should police what we say coz of what some sad twat on OTIB taking stuff out of context and deliberately lying about stuff might say about it is a bit strange.

Maybe Trolls should have asked Geoff Dunford to recommend Cardiff a much needed striker?

The manager of one, Stockport County, described him as the biggest waste of money since the Humber Bridge. Things turned out well for them.

I remember watching one of Rickie's early games for us and I made a point of watching him closely and tbh the guy hardly ever moved, he seemed so immobile and you would never have thought at that stage he would go on the be a full international.
Jason Roberts was another one who was bloody awful at the start of their Rovers career, he didn't do too badly either.

After all, they did it with England shirts years after he had left the club? So so sad

So so sad That is embarrassing. Not that I seen any but England shirts with Lambert on the back is hardly bizarre when we are English and he is a gas legend. Cardiff is a bit different as we clearly don't support them. They really are a special kind of special! 😂😂😂 Also maybe he should take a look at his club and wonder why our club and ex players still have a mutual respect for each other ages after we have parted. Speaks volumes IMO. P.S reading that back I really can't believe I've had to explain all that. 😂😂

Is it confidence or injury related as you'd have thought he would have been perfect for West Brom? ...or age? Combination of never being first choice (Liverpool) and not playing to his strengths (WBA). Rickie let his heart rule his head with the move to Anfield. There were always going to be better strikers ahead of him in the pecking order there and he left a team that was perfectly set up to suit him in Saints (which is why they immediately replaced him with Pelle...a sort of Italian Lambert!). Pulis signed him and expected him to refind the old Rickie magic with no other team mates near him and starved of the service he needed. Soon realised that wasn't working and relegated him to cameos from the bench as Rondon and Berahino fitted the Pulis method better. It is not difficult to lose form if you never get game time and have to live off scraps as when you do make it on the pitch your team is invariably chasing the game.
