Hey guys, thought I'd give you some information on what your likely to see from Boateng.
First of all, you have done really well to sign this guy, he's very highly thought of at palace and it took a lot of work for us to get him back the second time according to our manager because pardew wanted him on their bench.
Hes already played in their first team in the premier league and was way too good for us, he could easily play for a championship side now. During some of our games he always looked a class above and his team mates not on the same level.
He's a huge guy with a massive physical presence but also has great technical ability, his passing and quick feet can be as outstanding as his power and ability to bully players. He has a confident swag about him and I'm sure he will be a fan favourite.
If you were in need of a midfield powerhouse who will control games you now have your man.
On another note how is Hartley getting on, many thought he would be too slow for league one but I was a big fan of his, a real leader and was always organising the defence. Also loves a goal. We already miss him.
I was sad to see you go up as always enjoyed our fixtures but you seem to be going places, with Taylor up front, boateng in midfield and a solid defence you could quite easily do a burton.
Good of luck for the season

-----Locks - Hartley - Clarke-Salter--- -Roberts----------------------Brown-- -----------Boateng--Colkett-------- ---------------Lines---------------
Feel free to play wingbacks all you want now DC...
As much as I love Stuey and tolerate OC, we now have the players to make things happen in the midfield.

Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts - much appreciated. Plymouth is one of my fav away days too - always enjoy the banter and the guys that sing in the tent before the game.. Looking forward and excited about Boateng - he is just what we needed Hartley has had a solid start and has already chipped in with two goals including a great header at Stamford Bridge. Here's hoping you have a good season and make it up this season Good of luck for the season

Thanks, Plymouth fan. Great to see such a glowing reference. He sounds just what we need and looking at pasoti, your view is shared by most Plymouth fans. If he can fit into our system then I think he's just what we need. What system did you play last season and did he operate more as a defensive midfielder or a box to box player?

We played 4-2-3-1 and he was one of the two in front of the back four, he pushed on a lot more than the other holding midfielder though because of his energy and power, he's an extremely fit lad and would get back quick if needed. He will make it in the premier league in my opinion, he arrived to us having never played anything but academy football and took the league by storm, he was a huge part of us being top at Christmas by a good margin too. He then went back and played first team for palace and was allowed back to help us try and push for promotion. The only problem you might have is if he's brilliant, they might not let you have him back after January and that messed us up, top top player though.

Had a good drink with Argle fans before the match the had one of those amazing IvorDooney pasties out the back of the van on the walk to the ground. I understand you may have signed McBurnie. If so, I think he will score goals for you as long as he gets more than the last few minutes of a game. We road tested him last season and he's a good prospect.

Along with the 2 lads we've signed from Chelsea, I think we've done great business in the window.

There was a hint that Boateng may be signing for us a few weeks ago and it was clear to see from the discussion on PASOTI that he was a well respected player. As others have said, he seems just what we need. Hartley has looked strong for us so far and has not really been exposed for pace too much from the games I've seen against L1 strikers.

As much as I love Stuey and tolerate OC, we now have the players to make things happen in the midfield. Agree with this. What with our lack of wingers and high number of CMs, I think 3-5-2 is going to be our main formation this year. It sounds as if Boateng and Colkett will have the movement off the ball and passing to allow us to play through the middle in that formation, as well as using the wingbacks. Before now it's felt like we often end up going down dead-ends while playing 3-5-2 as there wasn't enough guile in our midfield, so we'd end up hitting a hopeful ball into the channels for a striker. I don't think that'll be an issue now. Thanks to the OP for the info.

Don't you just hate double barrelled surnames (especially when one of the barrels is Clarke) - makes it look as if we are playing 4-4-1-2!!!!!!!!!!
Actually that might be a good idea, if we can get away with it................

Agree with you about the pasty's, none better. As regards Mcburnie, heard nothing about that. He is with the Scottish under 21 squad for their game tomorrow night and as far as I am aware still very much in Swansea plans for this season.

We aren't linked with this mcburnie and we have a lot of strikers. We have brunt back soon which will be good, was brilliant for us before getting injured.
I thought you guys might have signed Reuben Reid from us, shocked he's still a free agent

I think Hartley has been a very good signing. He leads and talks and I feel he has improved our defence and despite not being the quickest he knows it and so far hasn't been exposed too much. As for Reuben R, good striker but don't know if clubs will risk his injury record. Rumours back in the Summer said he had failed two medicals at clubs. I guess when the tables settle down and we see who is in danger of relegation or dropping out those clubs might be forced into a risk through desperation! But you are right, if fit, he is a very good league 2 possibly league 1 striker.

Hope it works out better for you, in form he's a beast.

If RR is still a free agent any chance you'll re-sign him?
