think you will find he asked to go out on loan so he could get some games in
Yes because our manager wasn't picking him, therefore in the managers eyes (and I assume his is the only one that matters right?) he isn't/wasn't good enough for the first team.
So using your logic is The beard going out on loan then because with the new guy from Palace being first choice will the beard ever get a game ?

Probably not as the loan window is now closed.

So he is now 3rd choice and at best a bench warmer, bit gosling then

Well its down to the mentality of the player if they find themselves on the bench or in the stands.
Some will knuckle down and fight for their places, some will be happy to play bit parts and some will want to go elsewhere.
Sincs has been a regular first team player (when fit) over the past 2 seasons now, Gosling has never come close to being a regular starter.
You still haven't answered how you know Gosling had a better contract offered elsewhere?

I have never been bothered with overseas footy but it sounds like a better prospect than a wet winter in England getting splinters out of your backside. Not sure how wages compare though?
You do realise the Bristol Post will likely have this as their back page 'story' tomorrow?

I think many from last year will be found wanting this year, Brown & Leads come to mind, most of the current midfield and maybe Gaffs upfront Isn't it a bit early to start writing players off when we've only played a couple of league home games and one of those was against the likely championship contenders? LL/LM maybe passed it, OC could struggle at the level but until we've seen the likes of Brown in a few more games it's early to take a view one way or the other. You talk about how early it is to be writing players off but two or three posts up you wrote this?? Why on earth would you be distraught if Gos ever played for us again? Total lack of respect for a player who played a role in two promotions IMO! Think you used the wrong word. By all means be something, but distraught....? Think you need a sense of perspective over this. UTG and players who have played a part over the past two years! I see Gos could only make the bench for Cambridge on Saturday and they are bottom of Div 2! I doubt we'll see him in Rovers shirt again.

I doubt even he thinks he will make it in Div 1 hence why he's taken the opportunity to go on loan to. Cambridge rather than fight for a place with us.

If DC wants a hot ruthless striker take a look at Dan Tarpey at Maindenhead United.

I'll be distraught if macca plays a league game for us again. He was out of his league last season. The guy has no confidence in himself and noone knows what he's saying. Macca is funny one. Does sometimes look out of his depth, especially the lack of pace, but on his day, especially man marking a rough house guy, he is one of the best around. And football these days is a lot about stats and his stats are remarkable. He was injured for the opening eight games of last season and an unused sub for the next two. Six of those games ended in defeat; in fact Macca only featured in three of the 13 League defeats, whilst in contrast he played in 16 wins and three draws. I'm not 100% sure HOW that happened but it did.

His stats are pass completion, tackles won, fouls conceded, headers won, shots blocked etc.

McM is a good relialbe defender whose v. useful as back up, if he had gone out on loan last month would we have got anybody better, who was happy to sit on the bench until required?

The players say that he is a good influence, both on and off the pitch. Obviously he's moved down the pecking order with the arrival of the loan players, but I think he's still a good squad player for this season.

I'm not 100% sure HOW that happened but it did. You mentioned this stat about Macca at end of last season Martin and I was really surprised. I've always liked him but knew others didn't. But, in the run in from Feb onwards he was as good and as consistent as any player in the team and when he plays I have never seen him let us down. I would still be very happy to see him play when we go 442. Yes he is slow but TBH I'm not sure Hartley is any quicker. One of the most underrated yet important players of the last three years IMO. If Sammy Igoes goal is the moment from our win in 2007 then Macca sinking to the ground in relief whilst everyone else is going mad, is the image I most remember from 2015. UTG!
