Nearby so went to have a look. More and more lorries moving on and off site and earth moving gear.
So as you do, wondered over and asked a couple of drivers what they were up to. One straight away said this is where the new Rovers ground is going isn't it? I said yeah. Is that why you guys are here? No, we are here to start clearing the site for the car park.
Make of that what you will.
As I said yesterday, if the feasibility study gives the all clear, this development will ramp up rapidly.

If it is the start I think we should all have a bet on what Bristol Sport 1982 ltd will be saying, I think something on the lines of " finally they are out of Bristol or now there really is only one team in Bristol" of course if it doesn't happen they will be trying to take the water by all their comedians. Let's hope it really is the start

Well over 1000, and if memory serves its nearer to 2000. It will be far and away the biggest car park attached to a football ground in the country.

Uwe's current carpark would be a nice revenue stream for them too. Bet they have over 1000 spaces, £2 a pop say is a nice little earner for an used carpark on sats and evenings

I think the bit we're doing now is gonna be a UWE car park which has 285 spaces, and seems to be an obligation we have to build. Then there will be the stadium car park which is 1250 spaces, which will be ours (whatever ours means in the terms of the lease/freehold).
Not sure how the various car parks will interact though. It would seem pointless for UWE not to use the stadium car park most of the time if they need it, and similarly pointless if we wouldn't have access to some UWE car parks. The main usage times of the two sites aren't going to overlap much.
EDIT: Apparently the stadium gets 100 spaces that UWE specifically won't have access to, so I guess that means they will have access to the rest.
