All managers are allowed to make mistakes but also be questioned...............and maybe both of our left wingers maybe carrying knocks?
But if not the case I think it was a mistake today to not have either Montano or Byron Moore on the bench. Second half Lee Brown saw a lot of the ball on the left and I also felt it was one of his worst games for us in a long time. Browner needs and misses a left footer in front of him and I think we missed Montano today, whilst Moore played mid week against Exeter.
I think DC got a couple of things wrong today with team selection and his bench, we are allowed to debate this? Montano had a blinder against Oxford and I just think DC hasn't used him best whilst confident since then.
Sluggish game and performance today, crowd sluggish, chicken and egg and all that, bring on the lights Tuesday night, I think we will see a lot better.

I'd say our play lacked width full-stop. what about a right winger ? Both Bodin and Easter were too central and we had no-one out on the right. Playing against 10 men we should've stretched the play more but strangely punted high balls to the enigma that is Harrison. easier said than done I suppose.

I just don't get DC's call on Harrison all the time, Ellis had two chances to attack a tiring centre half and defence and just put in 2 awful crosses. I thought the loanee's were very good and time for Luke James to get a run. Their right back was on his last legs, Monty would have tested him

I'll bet you will - a certainty - cos I'm away on holiday. Bet I miss a blinder.

Watched the reserves on Tuesday and believe me, Byron Moore is nowhere near ready for a game. He spent more time trying to come off than playing. It was obvious after 5 minutes that we were not at the races today. Sadly one of DC's traits is being 'over' stubborn. We sat to deep at Southend, then the same thing against Bolton, and at the Swindon water park, our whole team were so deep in the first half, I thought they were going to join me on the Stratton Bank. Same thing again today.
Rochdale did all the simple things well. I.e. Moving off the ball, attacking in numbers, etc etc.
DC decided our strategy, and well before halftime it was obviously not working. He was bound to change it, and the teams came out second half, and what do we see? No change. We were lucky to still be in the game at half time, and in fairness to Rochdale, they didn't shut up shop even when down to 10 men. They came mighty close to winning it when Roos had to make a full length save at the left hand post (looking from the Thatchers end).
Browner and JC both looked shaky, even Lockyer has not got back to his high standards of last season. Lines was absolutely awful, Thank goodness for our loan signings, especially Boateng who played a great game. They give great hope for the season.
Still, in the car on the way home I thought I would hear DC admitting he had got it wrong. No, not even that. MS was asked to do the aftermatch interview. What was that all about?
You are a good manager DC, but sometimes you get it wrong, and you certainly did today, and you will be a bigger and better manager for admitting what just about everyone else at the ground knew.

Very good post, I haven't missed one game this season home and away bar the Reading game and I agree with the above totally. Too stubborn at times and ridgid, DC will get it right but a few of our solid so called star players look very average at this new level. Some of them will settle down to be good DIV1 players but the likes of Lee Brown are struggling and certainly not a wing back.

I think any natural left back would struggle if asked to play left wing?

I've only seen us 3 times this season so far and to me we've been set up wrong in all 3 games and just don't look at the races yet this season. Has it been like that in all the games then? Unless we get a settled formation and team at home I fear we could be in for a tough season.

I think in DC's mind he does have a settled formation, which is 5 across the middle, possibly favouring the diamond shape, problem is it doesn't seem to work.
To play that formation we need two decent wing backs, but possibly the only one we have in the squad, Roberts, was sat in the stands!
If DC doesn't sort it out soon I can we'll be in for a long season.
He either needs to bring Leads & Roberts in has WB's or revert back to 4-4-2 on Tuesday, using Sincs as the right winger.
