I've watched Rovers for just under 40 years and there have been some right idiots supporting Rovers over the time, but yesterday there were some fans near the Family Enclosure who were looking for an argument as soon as they arrived. Singing Mildenhall as soon as we went 1 down, slagging off most of the team and booing at half time. Even Lockyer looked over in amazement! What kind of example does this set for the new players who were obviously a bit nervous. The last thing the new keeper would want is to hear every comment slagging him off. Rochdale didn't look a bottom of the table side but some people just thought all we had to do was turn up. I even mentioned to someone that the atmosphere wasn't great so someone turned around and told me to start it then. Anyway rant over.

The halftime booing was aimed at the ref.
If the atmosphere is sh** and you are not singing then that's a fair comment.
Agreed that abusing Roos is not right though and anyone who did that is a dickhead.

Lets say it as it really is, any so called 'fan' who boos DC or any of his team is an ignorant brainless fool (and a dickhead!)

Our atmosphere isn't as great as some people think. In fact I'm bored talking about it. 'Fans' abusing our players is hardly supportive of the team so the term dickhead is appropriate.

Disappointing attendance? Take a look around, only millwall and oxford (derby) had higher.

Worst atmosphere for a while yesterday and a disappointing attendance Agreed - I'm not sure why it was so flat. Almost had a feeling of people just couldn't be arsed (including myself for large parts). It was odd.

i think it was such a strange chaotic game that players and fans alike were confused and bemused! rochdale breaking out with 5 on 3 in there favour, the uncomfortable truth that we might have a difficult season against better quality players maybe dawned on us fans yesterday and we were very subdued just like we were at swindon town. it could be different tuesday though as the manager and team get to grips with the new reality of life in league 1 so im not too down just yet

It was a disappointing performance for sure, Rochdale are managed by a very shrewd and experienced man, he had obviously done his homework and got his tactics right.
We reverted to an almost 4-4-2 late in the first half which saw us improve, the lack of wide men was always a problem. Maybe introducing Ryan Broom into the side could help, he does like to hug the touchline which is something the other fit winger (Billy Bodin) rarely does.
Looking forwards to tomorrow night, I have a trip over to Surrey with work but will be rushing back for the game. Evening kickoffs seem to change the atmosphere in the ground, bluddy hope so anyway.
Come on you BLUES

The only worrying thing for me though is that there are a lot of shrewd and experienced Managers in this league and we have seen a few examples of this already this season.

If they didn't care they wouldn't be there. The only caveat I would bring into the equation is that a few moan just for the hell of it.

Two years ago we were a conference club no one would have dreamed we be in league one so soon and yes it is a big step up and yes we will take time to adjust so let's be realistic it's going to be a struggle this season without the fans giving the team loads of stick if they give it 100% every week that's all we can ask

The players were confused and the football was flat, the crowd were confused the atmosphere was flat.

We all know that DC learns from his mistakes and will sort it out in fairly quick time, remember the last two seasons our start was slow
