Tonight's game against Swindon isn't going to be an easy one but to be honest, no game this season looks as though its going to be an easy one. The gap between league two and league one is a lot bigger than I thought, but that being said, I think our lads are doing ok. I hate to say it but I would take a draw again tonight. If we draw our away games and start to pick up wins at home we wont go far wrong this season.
As for the starting line up tonight I wouldn't change the team too much apart from from bringing Linesy back into the team and dropping Boateng. I think Boateng will come good but we need results and I think we stand a better chance with Linesy in the team.

I voted Lines but would start Colkett on the left, too.
Bodin__Lines__Sinclair__Colkett
Don't see why Colkett couldn't play a Monkhouse-esque role on the left of midfield - linking up with Brown, drifting inside and using his creativity etc.

Monk house wasn't really a winger but linked up so well with brown and chipped in with double figures too. Colket would do a good job on that side. Didn't he play there on Saturday when he came on ?

Question is I suppose can he/will he track back? Bodin Moore and Montano all track back well. If he can, there's no reason why he can't play there. Bodin isn't really a winger either imo but does a great job out wide. Those two coming in off the wing and helping out in midfield could cause the opposition a lot of problems.

Would like to see Colkett get a start but a central midfield of the beard and Colkett would be too lightweight for me,so voted for lines for the purposes of this poll. Colkett to get his first start at home to Port Vale I reckon.

A midfield three of Boateng, Lines and Colkett would be the way ahead for me, with Easter and Taylor up top.

Wasn't Lines dropped as DC considered he wasn't palying well enough, since then we've drawn the last 3 games with Boateng in midfield, after an indifferent start.

Ha is this another thread that starts "I like this player but think that them being dropped will help them to improve"? The first post I've put on mate. Just my opinion. Do you think I am wrong to want Boateng to be dropped ?

I was surprised to see Colcket win a decent header in each of his home games. Had him down as one that would never win it in the air.

Do you think I am wrong to want Boateng to be dropped ? no I think he's lazy and without Sinclairs running we would be very vulnerable

Do you think I am wrong to want Boateng to be dropped ? I was saying on another thread that generally once a week we have a thread about "I really like X but I think they'd do much better if they were dropped". I think it's a total fallacy that the way to get the best from a player is to drop them. In my opinion, generally speaking, your best 11 is your best 11.

Lines didn't play well in the game vs Rochdale, was like he had a lead boot on, then he got booked but Boateng went off which was odd.
But when he came on vs Walsall he played well, driving forward with the ball etc, but he's only not started the last 2 games.

Very loaded question though.
Why not just ask which 2 players you'd like to see in the centre?

I find it interesting how people view the strength of teams in this league.
My view is: Scunthorpe- we were as good as them, but lost it trying to win the game late on. Oxford - we were far better than them Bolton - showed far too much respect, with far to deep defence. When we woke up for last hour, gave as good as we got Southend -they wouldn't have scored if they'd played all day - till the ref intervened Rochdale - again too much respect. They were no better than us. Walsall. - again a poor start. How we didn't win it in the end is beyond me. Brad City. - fully deserved point. Took a fluke deflection for them to score
So, I don't agree teams are that much better than last season so far. As DC says, we could easily have won two of our drawn games, namely Southend and Walsall, and we would be in the top half. What we must do is forget the 3-5-2 nonsense and stick to what we do best.

I feel the reason we're playing better now is because we're playing 4-4-2. We need to keep going with that I can't believe anyone's suggesting we play wing backs tonight did they go to the first game ??!!
