Did it hit anyone in the south stand when it fell down? Couldn't tell from the other end but got a good laugh from it.

I don't think anyone got hit by it. It was one of the funniest things I've seen at the Mem. Port Vale fans started singing "sh*t stadium, sh*t stadium...." which made me chuckle too.

Yes it landed on my cousins young son, lucky it didn't cause an injury. Glad you found it so hilarious. It's high time the flimsy embarrassment of a stand was replaced with something more sturdy as we will be still here for at least another 2 years.

Then he was sat with the Port Vale supporters then, for it was at that side of the stand

I am so sorry, I would not have found it funny had I realised somebody - least of all a child - was hit by it. I hope he is okay and has not been put off coming to games.

I think you will find during the summer 100k was spent changing the colours of the seats! Approx £100 per seat, shame they never reinforced the guttering! Truely tinpot imo

The incident is clearly shown on the Gasworld highlights, it was indeed on the Port vale fans side, & is clearly 'held' by a bloke in the front row as it comes away so didnt hit anyone, but did swing just above a few heads. Why would you make up a story about it landing on your 'Cousins Young Son'?

My cousin is the guy in the checked shirt grabbing the guttering after it hit his son on the arm. But it happened on the Port Vale side you say? No sh** Sherlock! Guess who my cousin who is from Stoke On Trent supports?

Jeez yet again with the knicker twisting.
Rovers haven't designed a drainpipe which can withstand a football being drilled against it at 80 miles per hour. Woe is me! I demand Wael thrash himself with a branch in the centre circle at the next home game!

I am not knicker twisting about the drainpipe too much am I but those that thought it funny when it could have caused injury to a young boy (but fair enough for apologising) but more at the poster above who basically accused me of inventing a story because it happened on the Vale side of the stand. Obviously the concept of having relatives from different parts of the country is a bit of a challenge for some people.

They have drainpipes at Old Trafford, Stamford Bridge and The Emirates too. But they're the special bulletproof kind that you can smack footballs off all day long without consequence obviously.
