Am I the only one who thinks the retaliation rule in football is unfair?
If I received a roy Keane type tackle at the knee on a 5 a side game, I would clout the hell out of the offender!
I think that if a player is provoked a referee should have discretion to take that in to account. It might stop the cheating culture if players weren't auto sent off.
I am sure the reason is to stop brawls escalating but silly interpretation (beckham 98?) should end and let players sort it out a bit more.

Has anyone else noticed that Colkett can get quite "punchy" at times, when he has been fouled? Hartley actually had to pull him away from one situation on Saturday and at the Yeovil game something similar happened right at the end of the game.
It surprised me slightly and I think it is something that he needs to be careful of.

Charlie probably that's what he's gotta do in the League.

A genuine hard b@stard doesn't flinch, just gets on with their game " felt nowt". It also takes discipline not to react, you can't help your team if you're in the shower scrubbing your nuts. Some of the soft lady gardens nowadays poncing around the park, deary me.

I remember Jocky regularly kicking the s***t out of Smith every time we played our noisy neighbours. Jocky and Joner were a right pair of scallys.

Charlie IMO is the best technically gifted player to play for the Rovers certainly since our Eastville days; his attitude and edge simply adds to his presence, long may that continue. We are so lucky to have a lad of his quality, albeit for one season, thank-you Chelsea.

Their Nº 4 shouldn't have been on the pitch, had the spineless Referee dealt with him properly in the first minute for kicking Rory whilst he was trying to take a quick freekick. Anyway, they got their just desserts

That boy was a genious with the ball at his feet.

Watching jock play against the teds was worth the entrance fee alone, mr twentyman didnt take any prisoners playing them either, can remember his face looking at us from the six yard box and smiling as we were holding on to a one nil lead early 90s, happy days!!

Wish people wouldn't talk in riddles. Who was Jock? Ian? Alexander spelling could be wrong, a fondly remembered hard man of a fullback.

Did'nt Jamie do the summarising on the commentary for Rovers games on Radio Bristol for a while after his playing days were over? Was good at it to.

Wish people wouldn't talk in riddles. Who was Jock? Ian Alexander. Scottish fullback and a total hard case. He was the player who you just knew was going to get a revenge tackle in on anyone who had roughed up one of ours. If an opposition player made a dirty challenge the crowd would sing "Jockys gunna get you" at them until the inevitable... Happy days.
