Can the Chelsea lads be recalled? They're doing so well. Here's hoping they'll be here for the full season.

Can't be recalled if it's season long loan. Happy days.

We are so lucky to have Charlie, he is definitely the real deal; I cannot imagine Chelsea would have loaned either Charlie or Jake to BRFC if was not for the Wael connection, I am just loving this journey, lets get it out their, we currently have a very good team, and I guess the Chelsea boys will be with us until the end of the season. I just think back to the number of times I have said that we are three players short of a good side but those three players have never been signed. We now have our best squad for years but the sad thing with football now is that week after week we have players like Mansell, Lawrence, Leadbitter, McCrystal sat in the stands waiting for a game of football and that is without counting our own youth players. Without the Wael takeover there is no way we would have this luxury squad we have now for those people who say he hasn't put any money into the club yet!!

Look at the size our squad was in this league under Trollope and you'll see how right you are

It'll be interesting to see how our wage budget compares with the PT/PB/MM eras, what's the betting it's still lower despite the size of the present squad, unless the 4x loan players are costing us a fortune?

An interesting concern. I've not yet seen JCS play but what I have seen from Colkett has been very encouraging. But in all honesty why would Chelsea even consider recalling a loanee (at any club) that is yet to actually nail down a starting role?

They're gaining more staying put and playing for us.

What if a club want to sell a player who is out on loan. Or that player puts in a request. For instance Tammy Abraham.

I see the other lot are hoping that if they get promotion, they might be able to retain Abraham for another season loan. Not so sure about that. He's closer to getting first team action at Chelsea (he's already made his debut away to Liverpool at the end of last season) with Costa's long term future uncertain. I think Chelsea might like to see how Colkett and JCS cope at a higher level for a season or two before they return. Championship football for instance.......

That's a good question, what if another club offered sufficient money that Chelsea decided to sell, could he move in January or would he have to stay at the 82'ers but have a new parent club?

Interesting that thy tend to send players in groups to clubs. Like two to Fulham and two to Crawley, and the same to some other foreign clubs. I'm sure that Charlie and Jake are enjoying their stay here and giving good feedback to their coaches. Hopefully should mean that we pick up a few extra players in coming seasons. Maybe we can help them develop further in a higher league if we can keep pace with them.

If Chelsea sold him, he would no longer be theirs to loan, so would not stay at Trashcan; unless the buying team let him. I cannot see that a team would buy a player who is out on loan to leave him on loan.

In the event that we somehow miss out on automatic promotion, does anyone know whether a "season long loan" extends to cover the play-offs

If I read this right, they could be recalled in January or with mutual consent. www.efl.com/global/section6.aspx53.1 Subject to the provisions of Regulation 52, Standard Loan transfers shall only be approved in accordance with following provisions: 53.1.1 subject to the proviso that the duration of a Standard Loan must be the time between two Transfer Windows, Standard Loans can be for half a Season or a full Season; 53.1.2 any recall clause requiring the early termination of a Standard Loan can only be included in a full Season Standard Loan and this can only be activated during the second (January) Transfer Window; 53.1.3 any other early termination of a Standard Loan must be by way of a mutual agreement in writing (including by way of a recall clause within the Standard Loan Agreement) between the Transferor Club, the Transferee Club and the Player but can only be completed after the expiry of 28 days and only during a Transfer Window (but subject to Regulation 53.1.4 below); 53.1.4 A Player whose Standard Loan expires (or terminates) at the end of the Season of the Transferee Club but prior to the completion of the League Matches of his Transferor Club (where it is a Member Club) will not be eligible to play in any remaining League Matches for the Transferor Club in that Season; Read more at www.efl.com/global/section6.aspx#3WRdCfHd3AD1grG5.99

I think, technically, it is the registration that is transferred so in this example he could be transferred from Chelsea to another club without affecting the loan. His new employer could then exercise the right to recall the loan or not, depending on their circumstances. In theory, City have no say unless it is them buying him which would void the loan agreement. Funny thing, Contract Law.
