DC just didn't have the bench to cope with that particular sending off, without James Clarke it was a lash up. I guess he is injured. Makes me wonder if it's worth leaving Puddy off to provide more options, as generally DC uses the subs better than any previous Rovers managers.

We cant keep a clean sheet against 11 men. Maybe we would have still lost but not by 4 goals if the red card hadn't happened.
My view on the red is their guy knew where Leads was and left his leg trailing behind him to make it look like he had been impeded. Total con job.
Nice to see Millwall fans on their forum giving us praise though!!

Indeed. 59 home games without defeat. We were in stripes back then, before going all-white until finally returning to blue tops, white shorts and blue socks. Interesting. What do you make of having gone the opposite direction to us in switching Macron to Errea? I think Errea have done a good(ish) enough job on the anniversary kit. But, they simply could not help themselves and put gold trim on in and do not exactly follow the tradition of the original mid-1960s kits, which had narrower stripes. It will be interesting to see they come up with when we revert back to a more traditional Millwall kit next season. Also - I never buy replica tops, but my little girl wanted one this year & given it was an anniversary one I was happy to buy it. Yet, the quality does not seem that good. Whereas the Macron kits always looked pretty decent quality. But, to be honest I think the club will go with whoever...as we we sell the smallest percentage of replica tops in the entire league.

It's the fiftieth anniversary of their long mid-sixties unbeaten home run kit. Indeed. 59 home games without defeat. We were in stripes back then, before going all-white until finally returning to blue tops, white shorts and blue socks. Funnily enough, we were in stripes back then, before going to all-blue, and then blue tops and white shorts and blue socks..

Just seen video on facebook where Peter Hartley has been booked when going for ball with a millwall player who looks to have elbowed Hartley in the face. How can this be? What was Hartley booked for? Surely the millwall player should had been shown a red card!

That result had virtually nothing to do with the red card. As per usual we had the players back to deal with the situation but didn't. Time and again there will be more players back defending than those attacking but Rovers will still be unable to deal with it. Just watch the goals again. Shocking, amateurish defending, nothing less. Our defending wouldn't have been inhibited by seeing a teammate sent off (so the majority say) for nothing as the Millwall player apparently conned a gullible ref? A desire not to repeat it? After several other dubious decisions? Of course not.

Make up all the excuses you like, the defending was no different to any other game where we had eleven players on the pitch for 90 minutes. Poor, weak defending again regardless. Darrel wasn't happy with the defending so I suppose he is wrong as well in your book! There is more to defending than lunging in or pulling a players shirt for 70 minutes. Staying strong and closing down space would be a start. Plus, you don't need your midfielder passing the ball back towards the penalty spot for a freebie. I find it strange how many are using one incident which allegedly change the game but are not saying about the chances created and how Rovers matched Millwall even with ten men or the poor defending!

I think we are both in the minority here Padstow. We had more defending than Millwall had attacking and still didn't deal with the situation. Something which has happened in the past many times when we have eleven on the pitch. It happens all to often. Players marking fresh air,not picking players up or too weak in the challenge. the truth surely is a mixture of both playing with 10 men for 77 minutes against a decent team and poor defending. after millwall scored we pressed them and played good football but failed to equalise, once the 2nd goal went in despite a very easy to see foul on lockyer fatigue set in and the farcical 4th goal involved very tired players as you would expect playing a man short for so long. it was poor defending but the red card affected the game beyond any doubt imo We all know the sending off didn't help but the defending was the deciding factor as you have mentioned.

If we didn't have the red card against us we may still have lost but it wouldn't have been 4-0. Less numbers mean the ball keeps coming back at you and tiredness will creep in and that causes unforced mistakes. 1 man less is not massive by any means but that early in the game is something that you would do well to not lose, especially against Millwall away who have a good goalscoring record.

Funny how Rovers and many sides struggle playing against ten men. Mainly due to the fact that they would be more organised than when Rovers lost Leadbitter and still played high tempo. I don't think Darrel compensated for the loss of a man. Playing two up front still and three at the back was a challenge which says a lot for the fitness of the players as they still 'defended' in numbers.

But it was a tried and tested tactical switch,DC did the same said thing away to Eastleigh in the conny season and we ended up with a great point.Absolutely love the fact that DC never shuts up shop and goes for broke.

It was DC's fault. But it wasn't. It was the players fault. But it wasn't. OK, which is to be?

Why? My post was factual. Seriously? Eastleigh in the conference compared with Millwall in League one!! Ok mate. It's all relative though as when we played Eastleigh we were a Conference side, the same side who best us at the Mem. Although not sure where the 3 at the back suggestion came from as for most of the game we played 4 once MM replaced Colkett? Although I'd have pulled MT back into a deeper role but until Boateng's injury/the second goal went in we were still holding our own.

The thing is we started off with four defenders and finished with four.we had two defensive is midfielder on the pitch most of the game so it wasn't as though we were weakened in that respect so they should have been able to mark players in and around the box I think we are both in the minority here Padstow. We had more defending than Millwall had attacking and still didn't deal with the situation. Something which has happened in the past many times when we have eleven on the pitch. It happens all to often. Players marking fresh air,not picking players up or too weak in the challenge. Padstow and Sirpercy, I also share your point of view, adding, the failure to stop crosses coming into our box throughout this Season. DC needs to address our loose, half hearted defending urgently.
