I cant remember a Rovers game where we had so many chances. It was bordering on the ridiculous how Crawley somehow managed to scrape a 2-2 after 90 mins. On another day we could easily of scored 5 ,6 or even 7.
Still into the next round we deservedly go.

Hartley 4 - Not quick enough for the league

Sinclair 7 - runs around a lot
Lines 7 - To many Hollywood balls tonight but good running
Montano 6 - good pace tonight, shooting was poor
Taylor 6 Scored 2 missed 5
Gaffney 9 his best game since joining full time with us
Subs: Bodin 6 - getting better
James 8 - perfect replacement for Matty in January
Clarke-Salter 7 - got to replace the very slow Hartley on Saturday

Roos 5 not a lot to do.
Roberts 5 still finding his feet. Crawley gave him a few problems breaking down his flank.
Lockyer 6 pretty solid.
Hartley 5 shaky at times.
Brown 6 no drama's in a 4-4-2.
Moore 4 pretty inaffective subbed.
Sinclair 7 his fitness and hunger in a battle of a cup tie was superb.
Lines 8 Assists and general play mostly outstanding apart from thier first goal.
Montano 6 tired come the end but looked a threat.
Taylor 7 done his job
Gaffney 9 MOTM ran, tackled, harried, held ball up and more importantly scored!
Subs: Bodin 6 done ok
James 7 great impact looked right up for it.
Clarke-Salter 6 cool calm quality.
Crowd 6 fair play for the ones that got off thier arse instead of watching England.
Ref 4 pretty weak decision making
Crawley 5 got ran into the ground, but made us fight all the way.

Roos 6 - not a lot to do apart from picking the ball out of the net (twice)
Roberts 6 - Competent if unspectacular
Lockyer 6 - Not one of his better games but still solid
Hartley 6 - Usual competent performance
Brown 6 - as above
Moore 5 - not a great deal to report, conditions didn't seem to suit him
Sinclair 7 - Non-stop running and good to see some forward surges!
Lines 7 - Why doesn't he shoot when in a good position? Mistake led to first goal but otherwise pretty good
Montano 7 - If only he had a right foot...had a couple of good chances which went begging...
Taylor 7 - Another Taylor-esque performance. We know what to expect
Gaffney 9 - MOM. He has to start alongside Taylor. Gives everything.
Subs: Bodin 7 - Much better than of late. Hopefully he will keep this going.
James 7 - Best I have seen him play.
Clarke-Salter - 7 Cool, calm, collected...
Crowd - 5 Are you sure under 4000 there? Seemed more like 5000.
Ref - 5 Let a few things go and bottled a few decisions. But not the worst.
Crawley - 5 Ran out of steam but they were there for the taking at times.

Roos 6 couldnt be faulted for the two goals, looked confident the few times he touched the ball Roberts 6 an ok game,i think he,s adequate but he,s third behind Leadbitter and J Clarke. Lockyer 5.5 barely average Hartley 5.5 same as Lockyer Brown 6 got forward well but some wayward crosses Moore 4.5 did nothing,the worst i've seen him play Sinclair 7 never stopped running,what energy and fitness. Lines 7 some good surging runs Montano 7 forgot his shooting boots but was a handfull and links well with Brown Taylor 7 scored two,should have had 4 or five Gaffney 9 M.o.M absolutely superb, he would have 10 if he hadnt missed two decent chances Subs: Bodin 7 looked more like last seasons player, unlucky not to score James 7 very lively, had bad luck when he hit the post after setting himself up brilliantly Clarke-Salter 7 calm, composed, really looked the part,i reckon he'll start for Hartley on Saturday Crowd 6 looking at the other replay crowds it was a decent turn out Ref 5 should have gone to Specsavers but at least he wasnt card happy and let the game flow Crawley 5 decent on the ball but poor without it with a truly shocking defence (and I thought our defence was poor!!!) |

Byron Moore has been ill with a virus, probably why he faded so quickly; Billy Bodin's time in the stand appeares to have woken his hunger lets hope he can get back to something akin to last seasons form.
