I've just been looking at the form tables and we're at 6th position for goals scored - so a good haul and justifies our position in the play off positions.
Looking at goals against we're fourth bottom - worthy of the relegation zone.
Our attacking play is carrying us. If we keep going at this rate we will be alright - but if we manage to stop shipping goals we will be a force but on the flip side losing Matty T over the winter could see us start to struggle.

but isnt a team all in it together? i mean we defend from the front to the back and vice-versa,as a team we havnt defended well at times this season as illustrated v crawley but its the whole team that have struggled at times in this area. v crawley chris lines stupidly gave away a corner which they scored from. it must have been frustrating for the manager as we should have won at a canter. will mk dons exploit tired legs on saturday?

The question is was lines following managers advice in trying to play out of danger, how it looked to me, or failing to follow advice and put in in row Z?

I was looking at that stat at the weekend as our GD went negative. That we can score tells you where our issue is. Showed it again last night, although 2 goal margin is unusual for us. Not sure if we need better players, it just seems a bit chaotic at the back at present which is troubling given that has been a strength under DC

I don't think DC has ever rotated the team around as much as he has this season, everyone bar Brown and Lockyer has been in and out of the team.
I think you can get away with that more in midfield and up front but a defence has to have a much better understanding between them imo.

We've basically a Div 2 when Hartley plays, even mostly Conference defence - Leads,Locks, J Clarke, Brown, so we probably still need more quality or JCS to nail down a starting position and Lockyer & co to find their feet in Div 1.

The real reason for the goals against is sadly the constant changing around of the back line. This is probably as much as any other reason for Lockyer to be struggling. There is no real understanding of each other.
As for last night, Lines was yet again shockingly poor. And what's worse is he can't seem to hit the ball when able to take a shot. So god knows how he scored that goal against Cardiff.
