I was reading something about 18 months ago saying although he was in the top four, in terms of not just achievements but natural ability he was miles behind Federer, Nadal and Djokovic.
He's certainly putting that story to bed now. He's left it a bit late at his age, but he still has time to win plenty more. No reason nowadays why a tennis player can't continue at the top until their early thirties if they look after themselves.

A real shame that many have the same pathetic attitude as you,Andy Murray is one of the finest sportsmen the British Isles has ever produced and he has got where he is with hard work and dedication and a deep will to be the best he can possibly be.This remarkable man who as a boy had to hide in the headmasters office as a crazed gunman murdered all those "little Scottish twats" was just the beginning of an incredible story that still has a few years left to run. |

As an aside, whatever happened to American men in tennis?
In the current rankings, the top USA player is John Isner. He's ranked number 19, and as a casual follower of the sport, I've never heard of him.
The same is true to a lesser extent in golf and athletics.
