My step daughter is 28, very caring for other people but suffers from mental and physical illness. Has attempted suicide on a number of occasions including last Monday. She is bright and set up a facebook group called FIT, or facing illness together. It's tragic that no one has any answers why people suffer from mental illness, or even care. Most do not see any future. It's good that we are fighting cancer and Alzeimhers but we need to take a long look at the causes of mental illness. An awful lot is caused by being assaulted when they are children. Sad but far to often true. |

I suffer with bi polar type 2 disorder which was misdiagnosed for years, was told it was PTSD and told to get on with it,so after many years of suffering I was properly diagnosed in March last year and finally put on medication so fully support this.
I also work in the homeless sector so see mental health issues on daily basis
