The best thing about Southend fans piping up on social media about how sh** we are is that we took 4 points off them this season To be fair to them, us conceding 4 goals at home to their rivals, looks a bit unprofessional. If this was around the other way and we were relying on other teams for a play off place we would be fuming. I remember watching Stevenage? grind out a 0-0 with Accrington last match of last season that helped us. The commitment of those Stevenage players, who had nothing to play for, was credit to their professionalism. We got dicked away by Millwall when there was something to play for, that was the unprofessional bit.

Millwall will get tonked in the playoffs if they play like that. Very fortunate to win. A side that knows how to defend like Bradford will sh*t on them. Hopefully King, Cooper, Thompson and Wallace will be over their bugs by Thursday. That will make a big difference. That is why it is hard to judge a side on one game. After all, do you also attend the 4-0 game at The Den? But I take your point, if we play like today then yes Bradford City will have fun. However, I very much doubt Bradford City will be quite as gung-ho in a Play-Off Final as Rovers were today in an end of season game with no pressure. Clearly Rovers are decent, so were always going to be dangerous, especially with our nerves on edge and 5 changes to team. Overall I think we deserved to finish in the Play-Offs, we went 15 games (a third of the season) unbeaten at one point. I honestly think if we had not made the QFs of the FA Cup and avoided a fixture pile up we would have secured a Play-Off spot a few games back. Also, Bradford City et al will need to know how to defend, as I think despite all our inconsistency, the one thing we do have is a very dangerous and experienced strike force. Seems you had a dodgy ref favouring your team in the home game as from memory our RB, Leadbitter, got a red early on for a bad tackle no worse than he received himself today in the fist half, even then the game only turned when Boateng went off injured, there doesn't seem a lot between the two sides, whereas the other 3 teams in the Play offs have been ahead of us all season. You were lucky our star defender since January was missing today or otherwise we might have actually defended the corners.

Cooper looks like a basketball player not a footballer - he came on. Maybe, but he is very good. Same with Peter Crouch. I know he came on, but I meant back as in fully recovered from this sickness bug that has hit the squad.

Given we had to dust ourselves down after being beaten in last year's final, had to deal with a fixture pile up due to our run in the FA Cup and then had to face a decent Rovers side unbeaten at home since November while having to cope with a sickness bug running through the squad, I'm pretty pleased - and wont analyse our luck or dodgy refs (the fa famously love us & make sure we get bias refs) too much.

We lost that game rather than Millwall winning it.
We were utter sh**e at the back in the first half and completely unable to cope with 2 decent forwards.
We totally dominated play after the break without ever looking that dangerous.
Harrison was ineffective as a threat.
Moore finally looked like a half useful player for the first time that I've seen today.
We basically handed them the win when we went down to 10 men.
2 utter crap home performances to finish off a very good season.

Thought the wind played a bigger part than most appreciate.
Exciting game and nice to be involved in an important game. Millwall came out all guns blazing, but thought we battered them in the second half.
JCS was woeful - didn't look too interested? Linesy struggled with his passing in the first half. Plusses - Danny Leadbitter, Byron Moore and Jamma.
Well done to MIIIILLLLWAALLLLLLLL - they dug in (like we did last year) and found the win they needed.

According to Southwark News journalist some of our players even threw up at half-time!
Hopefully they can take the elation of beating a decent Bristol Rovers side in adversity into the play-offs.
As an aside Bristol Rovers certainly seem a club on the up - and I hope that continues, have a genuine like for the club.
I'm a History teacher and have read the history of pretty much every single senior club in England (plus Spain, Germany and Italy) and was always drawn to your story.
I will leave you in peace now. Get the feeling Ive outstayed my welcome - some people really dislike us, I get it. But dont want to get drawn into any silly tribalism stuff.
So, cheers and maybe next season or soon.

Plus James was through on goal before being fouled in the move which ended in Millwall's 4th. But at least the ground survived in tact!

Good luck Fella, I think you will do it. Stuck 8 past us, certainly no mugs as your cup run proved.

Just saw the highlights, and can't believe Millwall's second goal. Usually I have a bit of sympathy for the linesman, coz often with those far post tap-ins from corners, the player ghosts in late through a crowded box and it's hard to see what's up. But for this one, he was stood a yard off-side, without moving, for the entire time. That was straight out of Linesman's first day at school, just after (or maybe before) the lesson on doing their laces up.

I bet Southend fans won't be too pleased either.

We totally dominated 2nd half - by stroking the ball around the pitch , stretching Millwall on both sides and running at their defence to good effect. Taking Easter and Harrison off let them back in the game - there was nothing on the bench sadly.

Actually would have been on the pitch if he had.

I can't imagine what the mood would have been if there was something riding on the game for us.
