By far the worst performance by the Gas for many a year
Puddy 0.5 Can somebody please explain how Puddy is a better option than Roos. Yes Roos made a few mistakes (as all keepers do) but nothing like what I have seen today. J Clarke 2 Struggled badly against a good winger, looked Conference standard today. Lockyer 1 Needs to be taken out the firing line, is making himself look like an ordinary centre back Hartley 1 Not good enough for this league, too slow Brown 1 So out of form its untrue. But still a lege. Boateng 2 no two games are the same , best he goes back to Palace as he does not fit in with any patterns of our play O Clarke 2 tried but not good enough Sinclair 2 as above Colkett 1 Too lightweight and does not understand how he fits into the diamond formation Taylor 1 Poor, plays as though he knows he is going elsewhere. Gaffney 2 should have put us one up in the first minute
Harrison 2.5 MOM I am shocked to give him this but at least he tried to make a difference. However is league 2 at best Bodin 1 did not beat his man once Lines 2 still too deep and pulled out of two challenges at the end!!
Crowd 8 great effort by travelling support, justified in the poor reception given in the end. Players must appreciate the cost of away travel.
Ref 5 average DC 4 no width caused us problems, must make the right signings in Jan.

Puddy.1.Not good enough for Braintree. Not good enough for us. J Clarke. 4 Worked hard but is limited. Lockyer.2.Distribution awful.Positioning not good. Hartley4.Worked hard .Won some important headers.Slow though. Brown.4 Worked hard but needs a rest. Boateng.3.Not involved enough. O Clarke.3.Not Div 1 standard. Sinclair.2.Ran a lot but achieved very little. Colkett.1 .Anonymous.Too deep. Taylor.2.Needs to show some sort of urgency .Very poor. Gaffney 3.Worked hard.Plays wide all the time when we have no strength in the centre.
Subs.Harrison 4.Shook their defence up.Tried hard.Silly booking but looked more likely than anyone else. Lines 4.Has had better games but with no other creativity think we need him. Bodin.1 Simply not good enough. Ref .8. Very fit .Very good.Sent off their manager which was the games highlight. Crowd. 7.The older drunks who sat in the front row just to to left of the goal, gave the stewards a tough time.Otherwise the large following deserved better.
Shrewsbury. 7.Belied their bottom placing.Much more fluid than us and the easiest afternoon their goalie will ever have with not a single save to make.Nice neat stadium for a small town club.Smiled how the announcer when announcing a sub, said,'This sub is sponsored by'...... DC. 3. Don't know where it's gone wrong since Oldham but needs to get it sorted before we end up in a relegation fight.

Puddy never a keeper shouldn't be playing - 3
J Clarke not good enough for div 1. 2 for effort
L brown must have a winger in front of him 4
Hartley tried hard but must wonder what's going on in front of him 4
Lockyer as above. 4
Sincs well a right sided player never in this world 3
Boat when had the ball no outlets had to turn and play back 4
O Clarke tried hard but just not good enough for lg 1. 4
Colkett young lad learning the game d c asked to much of him in that role good playing with wingers in the side 3
Taylor no service but didn't look interested. 3
Gaffney not good enough for this division but works hard 4
Lines d c should not have dropped him by far are best player throughout the season 5
Harrison you never no what you are going to get with him but tied very hard. 5
Boudin needs to have a run in the team 4
D C time to stop tinkering and play with 4-4-2 formation mark for Saturday 2 but still a good manager learning the game
Ref 7
Shrews 5 we made them look better than what they are gave them both goals
Gasheads there in numbers again but let down by the worst performance for a very long time. 8
All the above mentioned have done super over the last 2 seasons but now we can see that some players and the managers tactics need change.

Results in and though its not much to brag about, Ellis Harrison was Man of the Match.
This was Harrison's first MotM in 53 appearances since Dover away. James Clarke has been waiting the next longest, 46 games since his last MotM. Lee Brown has not been MotM in any of his 114 league appearances in the last 2 and a bit seasons.
12 players recorded their lowest ever rating. The only players who didn't were Ollie Clarke and Harrison.
Charlie Colkett recorded the joint second lowest rating (1.67) ever on these threads. Only Tom Parkes at home to Newport (1.64) has scored lower. Parkes and McChrystal also both scored 1.67 away to Altrincham in the Conference.
Billy Bodin and Will Puddy scored the 6th and 7th lowest ratings ever. Bodin's was the worst ever score by a substitute and Puddy's the worst by a goalkeeper. Those records were previously held by Adam Dawson away to Macclesfield (2.3) and Lee Nicholls at home to Newport (2.7).
The starting XI average was 2.60 a record low beating the 3.67 against Bath City. Harrison's score was also the lowest by a MotM.
Puddy 1.9
J. Clarke 2.7 Lockyer 2.3 Hartley 3.2 Brown 3.0
Boateng 3.0 Sinclair 2.8 O. Clarke 2.7 Colkett 1.7
Taylor 2.0 Gaffney 3.3
Subs: Harrison 4.1 Lines 3.5 Bodin 1.8
Crowd 7.3 Ref 6.5 Shrewsbury 5.6
