Are they still playing in that massive 25,000 stadium? No. not any more. Darlington were relegated three games before the end of the 2011-12 season. They went into administration with enormous debts. The then Chairman George Reynolds was sent to prison for tax evasion and money laundering. After that the club was taken over by a community trust. However, as the club ownership was transferred to the new owners without entering a CVA the club was demoted four divisions to the Northern League Division 1 on FA advice. Also the FA forced the club to change its name as it was supposed to be treated as a new club. The new owners chose Darlington 1883 and started again! The club moved from its former home, the Reynolds arena, the 25,000 seater stadium which was the source of all of the clubs administrations, and started ground-sharing with Bishop Auckland over 12 miles away. They have just moved back to Darlington on Boxing day,and are now ground sharing with Darlington RFC. They beat Halifax 3-2 on Monday and moved into the play off places of the Vanarama National League North.

Must admit though it was a decent ground.
