Couldn't understand their fans singing you're getting sacked in the morning. They were close to administration couple seasons ago and now mid table in league 1. Coz they had a change of manager at the beginning of the season. Chris Wilder has gone on to take Sheff Utd to the top of the table, and Rob Page came in and proceeded to destroy what CW left behind.

To be honest Sheffield United are big club and should be the easiest job in league 1. As for destroying them, they are a mid table side in league 1, and if they owe money to local council and still bring in players like JJOT, Boateng who are probably on decent money, the fans should enjoy it.

Thought the council wrote the debt off? As far as Sheffield Utd, if it's so easy to get them promoted why have they been stuck in Div 1 for a few years? Northampton looked poor today compared to Bury and Coventry recently, I don't even think they managed one shot on target. They'll do well now not to get embroiled in a relegation scrap.

As with Portsmouth in league 2, Sheffield Utd with there budget should walk this league. Luckily there are so many variables in football that can influence performance and ensure that Us fans keep coming back!

Nope, it crops up on a regular basis on the news here. Why the hell the good people of Newmarket need to hear about Northampton Town is another story.

And the Teds have got a nice trip to Fleetwood on a Tuesday night. All 70 of them. yes I'm so happy for them mind the gap only 13 places now and inbreds in free fall I'm liking 2017 Not much of a gap. Tomlin certainly wouldn't be able to squeeze through it, not with his low ribs.

The BBC website says two on target, they must be counting JC's headed back pass as well which is the only other time I can recall Puddy making a decent save!!

We have smashed 8 past Northampton (midtable) and been smashed for 9 by Charlton (mid table) sometimes football can't be explained ! Yes it can. Don't drop players who are playing well.

Let's see how they do in the next few away games. If he even starts them. Surely he can't change this side? ? Can't he?

Nice to see Boats leave the field last and thank the Gas. Interesting comments from the Cobblers' forum: The Bristol Rovers starting XI all played for them in League Two last season, along with most of the subs. If this doesn't prove that D'Ath, Byrom, McDonald etc should have been in the 18 I don't know what does. Its all about continuity, players raise their game. You can't pigeon hole players, saying they arent good enough for the level above. and Only made promotion in the last minute of the season, finished 14 points below us but have now done the double scoring 8 goals in the process. You're right, they held on to most of the squad, and despite having new rich owners they haven't gone out and splashed the cash because they've not needed to!! Interesting & intelligent comments But I find it ironic that a few games ago they would have seen a lot of loanees in the 18 players & may not have been able to come to that conclusion. So what does this all mean? A win is a win whatever players you use, but it's even sweeter when they are your players.

If he even starts them. Surely he can't change this side? ? Can't he? Who's going to be the first to say it? Give it up... Being serious, I'm sure DC will now keep a similar side 1 - I suspect he knows charlton was too much 2 - we have less players to choose from now 3 - if we beat Fleetwood we stand a very good chance of finding ourselves in the play-offs AND it makes us better than City 😂😂

The Mrs is coming with me for her second ever game today. The last time she came we lost 3-0 at home to Cheltenham. Genuinely one of the worst matches I can remember. Fingers crossed she's sees a Gas win today Last time she came??

Macca was talking, organising and encouraging throughout the match and his lack of game time this season wasn't apparent in the way he performed. Obviously not a long term solution, but I thought that he really stepped up to the plate today in every respect.
Superb performance from Ellis, and Billy Bob seems to have regained his confidence and touch. Could be interesting times ahead for us Gasheads!

I smell a top six assault run in like last year
This league holds no fear for this squad and quite rightly
The only lament I can add to this is I truly , sadly think it has to be the end for the Beard for this assault to happen
The midfield today were imperious and cut Northampton apart. Monty, Lines, Bodin and Clarke leave no room for the Beard at this point in time

Fair comment but it was one game, look at the chsrlton fans opinions of us after last weekend. We've all seen it over the years where a side near the bottom has played well and beaten us and we've turned teams near the top over. League tables don't lie and they've been top half most of the season and are now mid table. I think we were unplayable today and Northampton would have had to be st their best to get anything today and they were poor so we hammered them. I've said all long this season that 4-4-2 is our best formation and that we need cover in the wide positions and I think last weekend proved that because without Bodin and Montano we ended up playing Lawrence on the wing and the charlton fans couldn't believe that we are where we are in the table .

Lawrence played on the wing this afternoon as well? Unless DC brings in another wide player I assume he now sees LL as a left wing back up for Monty?
I think before we all get carried away we wait and see what happens next week, given how poor we've been away from the Mem lately. If we come back with 3 pts next week we could well be on track for a Play Off spot but another defeat we'll be back to square one.
