I quite like the concept of the current arrangement whereby smaller, local companies are given the opportunity to have their names on the front of the shirts. In fact, to me, it feels like it has become part of the culture of the club.
It also seems to have been very well supported in the past few years - so if it works, why change it?
Edit: The only drawback was when a Waste Management Company won the draw a couple of years back - I thought that their name on the shirts had unfortunate connotations and we were open to outside comments that we were "rubbish"

one of higgs and co's better ideas this....
essentially it near as completely sells out next year's hospitality before this season is finished....
I actually know a ted who uses this for his business and he thinks it's excellent....

The sponsorship draw is fantastic and is well worth the money for any local business based on the ‘consolation’ prizes alone. I’m not convinced they want to include that last paragraph on the website though. While a prediction of 97+ entries is a fantastic achievement for those behind the scenes, they’re essentially letting people know that the chance of winning one of the five prizes is slimmer than it was last year… to

At the end of the day, this is one element that does not need fixing. Plus it still gives the impression that the club are in touch with the fanbase that prettt much kept them going only a few years ago.
Bigger fish to fry and easy plus points for the club.

Good scheme and I don't see any reason to change it.

It also seems to have been very well supported in the past few years - so if it works, why change it? Financial Fair Play. We can only spend a certain percentage of our turnover on player wages. A quick way of increasing turnover would be to sign a lucrative shirt deal with Wael's Company (lots of teams do this with their owners for example Stoke & Ipswich). More money from sponsors = More Turnover = More money for DC.

Yeah, istr Hamer saying he liked the idea and thought it was unique and brought the club closer to the local community at last year's draw.

I guess the best solution to get round FFP would be to have, say, AJIB pay us massively over the odds for it.

I would guess they would look to do something different when either we are in the Championship or playing at the UWE (or another stadium). Perhaps a season or two too soon.

Maybe when the Stadium is in place Wael will seek a big Jordanian sponsor?

I tend to think buying and developing our own training facilities and getting us out of the original UWE agreement represent a pretty good start, don't you think?

Why would Wael's employers just hand over £'s to a English Div 1 club, wouldn't the other shareholders question what was going on?
