Totally agree , they had our appreciation on the day, but then again a lot of them got us relegated in the first placei do thank the team squad and management but most of all the fans for getting us to where we are now but history is history and we need to move forward Did they? Only 3 of the team that played/were on the bench on Saturday were in the squad on that horrible horrible day Ollie, Tom and Macca. On another note, looking back at the team/squad we had out that day, it really wasn't very good was it, a bench of Gough, Harding, Keary, Thomas, Lucas, Santos and Broghammer.I think I must've wiped that day from my memory until I looked at the line up just now, oh how far we've come in such a short space of time. Edit : I just watched back the interview with DC after that game, and my respect for him just gets more and more if that's possible, but I'm on a downer now so better go and watch the Wembley Pen from Manse and Browners right foot to cheer myself up. That bench sounds ridiculously weak and INEXPERIENCED. It's no surprise we went down when you think about it. Looking back on it, I can forgive John Ward, I do feel he had the best intentions of the club despite failing towards the end of his 2nd reign.

What financial ramifications would it have for the club if they somehow won promotion? Worst case scenario we get promoted to the Premier League and end up having to play at trashton for a couple of seasons. It would kind of be fun to be the team to bring premier league football there! Might put more pressure on UWE and council as an added bonus.

We could leave stickers in their home end each weekend reminding them about the gap!

Sorry, but where is gaschat mentioned? Where else has he picked up some negative vibes from, as there doesn't seem many from fans on match days? There's nothing about negative vibes or anything like that in the article.

He does make a fair point but it was HIM who built up supporters expectations in the transfer window not the other way around. HE sais he would freshen it up in January and supporters from there assumed that he would be bringing in a few quality additions and by quality I think most assumed it would be players from clubs ABOVE our present level. I am not criticising signing from a non league club and as it is Eastleigh I don't expect he came on the cheap but I am sure many will feel underwhelmed by the lack of activity and the lack in particular in signing a keeper. DC built himself up with his comments around the Shrewsbury away defeat and ever since then his talk of signings has been getting less and less. Anyway onwards we go.

Ever thought that the rocket DC delivered after Shrewsbury was a way to re-motivate his squad and remind them that he isn't here to stand still? If they don't keep improving and playing to their maximum each week, then they will be replaced! DC is asking a lot, but this group keep proving people wrong (me included!). Perhaps having seen the response, he now believes that the remaining squad members are fit for purpose (regardless of what the fans think!).

Reads like a bad day at the office. Think DC is just a fantastic manager who comes out and says a few strange things at times. Of course he could be genuinely upset about fans having a view and opinion on their team, frankly if that is the case we should all pack in watching football and take up a different hobby that doesn't mind people having an opinion

This is saying a few things: - DC actually believes in a lot of the players at the club. In January, the fans are desparate for big money big talent players to help the push. DC is saying this squad are good enough bar a few tweaks. - Totally agree with his comments on Harrison. I've been one of his detractors (always cheer him at games of course but had my doubts). If we just signed him I think we would think better of him - that's the point DC has made. - You can see clearly Clarkes "every squad player has a role" philosophy and commitment to in-form players, not God given names on the sheet. I get the feeling that work ethic gets you in the team as much as anything given the comments on training and working on skills. Perhaps it's the feeling that although the fans are happy, we always feel a bad run away from implosion. We wobble, the hatchets come out. DC and the squad then perform terrifically and we all "always knew Clarke was brilliant".. Then lose one or two and its "why doesn't he do xyz or play xyz, bloody useless!". It is easy to forget what this team cost, where they came from and I would add evidently how hard and dedicated they must have been winning us the most important promotions in the history of the club. These weren't even standard promotions either - they were critical lifesaving CPR to a club going bust. Players like the ones we have were not going to get L1 contracts, ever, most of them. On ability, if we weren't around, I doubt most of them would be L1 now. I doubt many would even be fully pro. There must be some superhuman efforts at this club from them, the staff and the manager. I imagine from DC and the squads perspective, the jeers after the odd bad away game grate. They are doing their part, or at least have done for 99% of the time. Sinclair becomes a conference player. Ollie Clarke should be released. A groan for every misplaced pass. We should be revering these guys as living gods for breathing life to the corpse of a once great club. To be fair, it's mainly good support but some stuff on Facebook and Twitter....they might not read this but they sure as hell read those. According to my poll, 95% of fans fully back DC and 5% have some form of doubt. Even the Doubting Thomases generally just have doubts and don't necessarily want him removed. The more I read this article the more I see "don't expect big money signings". I agree with you. Great post. However a decent keeper must be a priority on DC's list

Lack of appreciation? Nah, not having that. Attendances are up, support is terrific and everybody appreciates what the manager and lads have done.
Have a little moan when we lose/ players underperform - yep most of us do that (including DC) but just like our manager we have our little tantrums and move on and continue to support them all and that goes for 99% of our supporters.
Bad day at the office , just get on with it ffs.
