Odd things going on, odd timing for this to come out Makes you wonder why the club shop had a crash sale recently........ You've turned into a proper conspiracy theorist of late. What happened, did Wael take his Commodore 64 to a competitor?

Good call IMO by DC, the club has to move on. Can see...
Lawrence - retiring Easter - move to local league club - Newport? McChrystal - new career - he has degrees and 'ologys by all accounts. Puddy - National league team. Malpas - Local non-league Lyttle - Local non-league
At least we are starting to clear the decks and bring in new blood. UTG.

Have to say I'm very disappointed that MM and Easter are included in this. McChrystal has shown that he can still do a job and there is no-one better in the club at talking and organising those around him. Easter still has something else when he is included.
These two bring great experience and stability to the squad in my opinion. We must have a couple of pretty impressive new signings lined up that bring those qualities at upper League 1/ Championship level, otherwise I fear we will miss them immensely.
I hope we get to give them a send off, MM especially - him sinking to his knees at Wembley is a real Gas moment in History.

Either very interesting or very worrying times. Either: 1) This has happened because a few new players are incoming and imminently at that 2) We are reducing what is already a small budget I could totally understand (and expect this [plus more!]) in the summer, but with less than 2 weeks left of the transfer window and halfway through a season, to be told they won't feature again is bizarre if we don't have replacements lined up. I'm gonna be optimistic and say it's the first reason. As the second is too concerning to really think about. If it was no.2 then there's an obvious source of revenue and wages which we could get rid of, given that Taylor hasn't gone yet I'd say it isn't that. Also, no time frame on these players leaving until their contracts run out, which suggests again its not a wages thing. I hope Macca in particular doesn't leave in January, as we can give him a send off at the end of the season. That does suggest one more is coming in then, given Mildy isn't 'back' until March (although a 37yo keeper with a knee injury doesn't bode well for any kind of return, let alone a sharp return). Unless 'not being considered for selection' in Puddy's case just means that Lumley is no. 1 till end of the season and he's on bench? You are right. But given we'd have to replace him (and presumably wouldn't want to spend the money to do so), that really would lead to a meltdown. The players released free up funds whilst not really upsetting any of the fans.

Odd things going on, odd timing for this to come out Agree, but thinking about it. Is he trying to use this as motivation for the rest of the team to up their game or they could see themselves released in the summer too. Given they are all out of contract you;d hope they had already realised that anyway? This suggests money is tight as we feared and the only way to free up wages for new player is move some on, although you wonder how effective that's going to be when McM & LL have sat in the stands most of this season and JE on the bench virtually all his Rovers career. This really should have been said in the summer when DC was forced to hand them contracts, when they were clearly never really in his plans, surprised LM escaped the cull!!

I suspect DC would have sat each of them down and told them face to face.
Good luck to all of them!

Lines must be on a fair bit, plus Browner and Taylor? That makes no sense to his post. I've apologised for that. It's not been a good day.

I think he's still got a lot more to offer the squad.

Not necessarily, just because you have money doesn't mean you need to spend it willy nilly and not look to save money where you can.

Imagine if Macca, Puddy, Lawrence and Easter all start on Saturday now... Well, three of them played last week (and the other the week before). It's not like they've all been foundering in the reserves the past six months.
