I don't think it is £300k, I hope it isn't. That journo from the other week put that figure in his deleted tweet, I guess we'll never know. I don't think it is either. I know he's not infallible but DC is no fool and would look daft joking about £10m knowing that Matty could walk for £300k. Lets look at this realistically....
£300k to any of the Championship teams is peanuts. So, if his release clause was that small then I am sure there would be many more interested parties.
Of course, I could be totally wrong.....

Speaks volumes that clubs don't fancy him to be a Championship player. That was evident in the summer and evident now.

He's going to get slaughtered by Sh1!heads if he doesn't start scoring straight away. Gets what he deserves I guess.

No, get real, it's the pay cheque at the sh*t that's the attraction. I didn't say that our fan criticism was the ONLY reason he's leaving. I am saying that it could push him over the edge. I'm not taking the blame for pushing him over the edge...even if even tbone said he loved him I don't think it would have helped.

That was my rationale this morning when reports first started coming through. If it was £300k someone would have been in for him on January 1st. I have a feeling it will eclipse the Hayles to Fulham fee and that was £1.5m. Can't be as much as £5m because I don't think that would go down at all well south of the river. I have a feeling it will be about £2m but that's complete guesswork.

Yup he also said at the time that he din't want to leave with the club getting nothing for him He also said he wants to leave the club with his head held high, this isn't doing that, more like being smuggled out the back door with a blanket over his head. Not good that he's going there, but that's football, personally don't think he'll be the difference that keeps them up anyway as they will still have the midget in charge and as he's shown, he's fecking clueless, see you next year MT, unless the unthinkable happens and we pass them. You just reminded me of the news yesterday, Guy being interviewed at the swindon game , was asked about next season and said something along the lines of if we don't get promoted this season he looks forward to the bristol derby next year, classic bit of tv news i chuckled for hours. Realistically i suspect matty will be with us for a few seasons yet

Maybe it is £10m after all. In which case, Lansdown has just bought the UWE for us. Cheers Steve. UTG!

What the **** is WAQ and Hamer thinking; selling your best striker to the ******** ****, those two obviously know nothing about Bristol. I thought WAQ had money ? came into Bristol giving it the vision to the promise land speech. He has not spent any real money on the football team, he has become worse than Higgs with regards to communication. Clueless. We don not need a championship ground with this type of management. ******* gutted.

Speaks volumes that clubs don't fancy him to be a Championship player. That was evident in the summer and evident now. Rubbish. He's hardly struggled in League One, as is actually evidenced by his 16 league goals by January. You're kidding yourself if you think that he's definitely not Championship material because he's scored plenty at every other level he's played at so far. Anything less than £1.5m and City have done an unbelievable bit of business, face it.

When he signed the contract in the summer he did us a favour but Matty T stipulated his own terms on a release clause. DC is powerless to stop him, Wael and the club cannot pay him anymore wages due to financial fair play rules. There is NOTHING we can do.

if their a release clause, we don't get a say in who he goes to no matter how many clubs meet it
you did hear the bit where WAQ said right at the start he wasn't going to chuck money around
Get a Dam grip and pay attention

At the end of the day I support Bristol Rovers, not Matty Taylor.
If he leaves then goodbye, have a good'un

The club can't do anything about this.
Only disappointment will be if fee is peanuts and we don't replace him

Unless they offer him about 10 x what the rest of the team is on!

Understand but the Club, Wael, Hammer or DC can do nothing if the price in the release clause is met and MT wants to leave. Don't turn on the club it's not their fault MT and his agent have brokered a move. He wanted to move in the summer so no real surprise in hindsight.

Anything less than £1.5m and City have done an unbelievable bit of business, face it. Rubbish? It's very very evident. Explain to me why no Championship club came in for him in the summer, when he was available for nothing? And this is a climate of unprecedented amounts of money floating around the second tier. Many clubs could have taken the gamble on him. They didn't. Now he's reportedly available for £300k and reportedly only one club has come in for him. Speaks volumes. We've seen DC get the very best out of his players over his near three seasons at the club. Taylor is a prime example where they have got everything out of him. In another system under another management, I genuinely don't think he'll make any kind of impact. Nowhere near the same class as the likes of Ellington, Roberts, Lambert, Stewart etc.
