Anyone got any funny stories/events that happened during a local football game?
I still have the referee's report of this offence, but I was once booked, and in the report the ref states that I had "shouted loudly and angrily "Never"" when I was adjudged to be offside.
Another ref booked me because (his words) 'I didn't like the way you looked at me'...........This one in particular was funny. Even the opposition players were in stiches!

No, but I did break a guys hand once during a feisty game of 5 a side.
I was always quite a dirty player (due mainly to lack of actual skill) and one team we played had a big tall bully of a player.
Something of a running battle ensued which culminated in me absolutely clattering him going for a 50/50. I landed on him and broke all the metacarpals in his hand.
I saw him several weeks later and he had his hand in some sort of cage contraption where they had set his bones back.
A good 6 months later when I saw him next he still had it on. His hand hadn't set properly and he'd had had to have his hand rebroken and set again.
He was off work for over a year and ended up losing his job I believe and it also led to me quitting 5 a side.
We won 5-3.

You had to do something pretty heinous to get booked back in the day because most refs didn't want the hassle of writing up a report.
I always used to get wound up when we went to play in the council estates south of the river. Teams full of Sh1!heads who wanted to fight first play football second. I remember one feisty game where I got into an altercation and in a moment of madness picked up the corner flag and threatened to clout my opponent with it. Ref came over said put the flag down mate, I did, we all calmed down and I didn't even get booked for it!

We had just had a shocking away game losing 5-0, 5 of our players booked 1 sent off if, if I remember rightly the home side had 5 or 6 booked as well Wasn't a dirty game by any standard the ref was just power and card happy. After the game was in the changing room commented on what a W****r the ref was not realising he was stood behind me and ill have your name as well so ended up getting booked after the game
