There has been a lot of discussion over the past few years around the view that one of the reasons we have been promoted was that the Beard was injured in both run ins and ergo our midfield was better without him.On the basis of his recent for and probable MOM performance last night I take the view that if he had been available for the last two seasons we just might have clinched promotion earlier and saved my heart some massive stress!! Thoughts anyone??

I'd say we would have got promoted with or without him. Hard to say if earlier though, probably the same way. Why am I even answering this? Such an impossible and irrelevant question.

Perhaps that's true.
Perhaps Sinclair has improved.
Perhaps it's a combination of the 2.
Perhaps the middle 3 of sinc, lines and Clarke is what's making them all play well.
Or perhaps fans just couldn't see the edge he adds to us before and were wanting overhead kicks.

What!! And miss the excitement of that D/R match? There would have been no Browners Right Foot. Blimey I'm still getting over losing Ronnie Mauge in 2000, now that did cost us promotion! UTG!

Agreed I think the reason we finished both seasons so strongly, was try DC works them hard in pre season and then rotates the squad keeping them fresh. Then during the last few months, he keeps a more settled side and we finish strong.
If the snake didn't leave, we probably would have turned a few of these good draws into wins and we would be looking to challenge again, with easier games on paper ahead.

If we had signed stu from a championship club nobody would question his ability , he's been immense for us recently and more than proved himself at this level.
