Have to agree. There really is some top notch reading on otib at the moment. You have to remember that some of them have never seen us above them in the football pyramid in their lifetime, so the prospect of that happening must sting a little. Oh hang on, apparently we're not actually their rivals are we...

After the untold millions he's bankrolled 'em for and for what? Tons of abuse off sheeds, that's what. Hahahahahahahahahahah. Serves him right. He's fallen into the old trap of believing his own headlines. Just because he's an exceptional businessman doesn't mean to say he's gonna be good at anything else. If Hollywood had come calling a few years ago asking the Rosy faced tax dodging Lady Garden to make The Titanic, he'd have cast Tommy Cooper instead of DiCaprio. Premiership, Make Bristol Proud, Spunk loads of money on what will undoubtedly be the best stadium in the League 1, Bristol Sport, Europe in 5 etc. etc. All sounds very glam and glitzy but at the end of the day the blockbuster he's been promising and that people have been so eagerly awaiting for must've got lost in the mail 'cause all him and little Jon can come up with so far is "The Plank" hoping that no-one will notice. That Rosy faced tax dodging Lady Garden bought you know who just to f**k with us let's never forget that. No other reason, the spiteful sh**e. So after years and years of spending all that money on that lot all he's getting in return is abuse and vitriol

Me ole man was telling me that he reckons that Tomlin missed that pen on purpose.
Apparently LJ had a massive bust up with him. Bought for 3m when he had lots of options, sat in reserves. Now that they need bailing out LJ plays him and he skies a pen. Was it to get LJ fired?

Rumour has it that Lansdown is getting his mucky fingers into Glos Cricket. But there is no Div 3 in cricket? What on earth will they do when the inevitable relegation follows?

when we eventually f**k him and his odious south Bristol leisure centre football team it will feel all the better.
Nobody likes monopolies and Bristol is fast becoming one from a sporting perspective.
I am sure he feels he will be considered a philanthropist in years to come but all I can see is a fat financial advisor who pays to put his name on stuff.

I see OTIB have a thread titled Annoying twonks and asks "Just wondering if anyone else has annoying twonks with season tickets sat by them."
Think this one could rival the one about us in terms of length!!

Its quite an incredible thread . The arrogance of some who think they are 'above' playing the likes of Bradford and Swindon amongst many including ourselves. Overlooking the fact B and S have both played in the premier league whilst they have not. Bradford being a better supported club than BCFC1982 too !
They are so turning on the hand that feeds them ...I just hope SL has gifted the investments and not loaned the club the money and that Ashton Gate belongs to city and not Bristol sport.... Be terrible if he sold them to the first offer but made them pay rent to play at his Rugby stadium.

Thing is, although money helps, on it's own will not bring success. I do think his loyalty to the head coach is very commendable in the modern game. However, that loyalty does appear to be misplaced at this time.

Following on from the interview and appointment of Lee Johnson, let us move on to lateDecember. Bristol City have embarked on a record breaking run of defeats and plunged down the Championship table.
We eaves drop on a meeting in the Ashton Gate boardroom between the Rosy Faced Tax Dodging Lady Garden, his son Jon, Mark Ashton and Lee Johnson.
MA Steve has asked me to call this meeting as he wishes to discuss the present on- field performances vis a ve pre season expectations. Steve?
RFTDLG Thank you Mark. Yes, I've decided to use one of my precious annual UK visiting tax allowance days to call this meeting as I am alarmed at the fall off in first team performances. I'd like your thoughts please Lee.
LJ I can understand your concerns Uncle Steve, and in fact I share them. First of all, let me assure you that no-one is hurting more than me. I appreciate you have just used one of your precious tax avoiding allowance days to be here, but I feel it is in your best interest that I am afforded the opportunity to totally baffle and befuddle you with pointless psycho- babble and meaningless sound-bites rather than attempt explaining this strategy over a telephonic communication device.
JL (butting in) Eh?
MA (sighing) he means not using the phone Jon
LJ Yes, well anyway uncle, what you have to understand and appreciate that it is all about fine lines and margins. At this moment in time we are experiencing a slight reduction in our positive ratio of conversion rate versus opportunities created. This can be expressed in a number of ways, and I prefer to describe it as a barren conception within an infertile environment which has led to an unavoidable and unwanted drop in positive results within a 90 minute prescribed scenario
JL (butting in) What's he mean Dad?
RFTDLG He means we're not scoring enough goals, try and keep up son. What I find disappointing Lee is the fact that I have spent in excess of fifteen millions pounds on this stage of the project, and it is singularly failing to bear fruit. The result is that the ungrateful, unwashed of South Bristol are starting to question me. Me, after all I've done for them the ungrateful swine. Can you assure me that performances will improve over the second part of the season?
JL Vroom vroom vroom
RFTDLG For Gods sake Jon stop playing with that bloody Dinky car and pay attention
JL waah, Im going to tell Mummy you shouted at me and she won't like you any more (then throws his toy car across the room and starts to suck his thumb)
RFTDLG Oh come on son, Daddy didn't mean it. Here, here's a pound, run along and get yourself an ice cream. Now, wipe you nose No, not on your jacket sleeve you disgusting boy, use your handkerchief like a grown up. Get you ice cream and wait for me downstairs.
JL Thank you Daddy, I love you
RFTDLG So Lee, what do you intend doing to improve performances on the pitch
LJ. Well Uncle. The transfer window is coming up and I think we have to grasp the nettle with both hands and sign a whole load of players as quickly as possible. I feel sure that will placate all those nasty people who come to the ground every other Saturday and make absolutely no noise for 90 minutes.
RFTDLG. That's an excellent idea! There you are Mark, I told you it was a brilliant idea to give Lee that contract extension. Only a pure footballing genius could come up with a solution as original as that. Bill Shankly, Don Revie and Brian Clough rolled into one there. I can see that silencing the doubters, and stop them making unkind comparisons with Bwistol Wowews. I wanted to join their board, but I just couldn't master the name.
MA I knew you were right Steve. You must also remember to claim your share of the credit. Behind every successful coach is an equally masterful and brilliant owner. You should feel proud of yourself.
RFTDLG. Thank you Mark. As ever, you exhibit a mastery in recognising unblemished talent. I am a little concerned over the success of our rivals, and I don't mean Cardiff. You see, a while ago when I first embarked on The Project, I made the claim that in five years no-one would talk about Bwistol Wowews. It now seems they may be about to mount another promotion campaign. I can't have that, I can't have any attention being diverted from Bwistol Spowt to them. I pay the editor of the Bwistol Post a handsome retainer every month to avoid mentioning them but he still publishes one story about them for every 10 articles on us.
MA Outrageous! You're quite right Steve, we've got to do something to stop them. Any ideas Lee
LJ. Well, I've been to watch them a few times because I want to see if I can pinch any of Darrells ideas and tactics. I have noticed they have a forward who is scoring a lot of goals for them. Name of Matty Taylor.
MA yes, I've heard of him. Didn't Darrell say he wouldn't sell him for less than ten mill?
LJ yes, but that was just media bravado. You see, his agent is a good friend of mine and he happened to tell me he has a release clause of 300 thousand.
MA. That means that if we offer that Rovers have to let him talk to us. Once we get him to talks all we've got to do is offer him stupid money and he will sign for us. Do you think he'd do it though, some of those Rovers players have tremendous loyalty to the club.
LJ Don't worry about that, his agent has also told me what an evil little 5hit he is. He has no loyalty to Rovers and all he wants is as much money as he can get.
MA. Brilliant. We can steal him from the Gas. That will damage their promotion hopes and you never know, he might even get a few for us. We can really make a big thing of it, milk it and really rub Rovers nose in it, let them know who bosses Bristol Football. We won't make our move yet, get his agent to agree everything then keep it under wraps until the last moment. Let Rovers think they've made it through the window then move in and take him. That way they won't have time to replace him.
RFTDLG. What a brilliant idea that is. I'm so glad I thought of it. Not only will my brilliant move stop Wowvews in their tracks, it will also make me, we I mean us, heroes in the supporters eyes. Mark, make it happen.
Now, where's that stupid boy? Jon, Jon

Not going into details but I wrote the gaffer a letter 'bout a month ago. Actually got a reply this week. There will be posters on here that may familiar with my posts, who know that I have NEVER said anything negative about my beloved Bristol Rovers, be it staff, players anything I just can't. Same way that some of you are. Anyway, in DC's extremely kind reply he signed off with words that filled me with pride, hope, optimism and excitement. It's impossible to love him anymore than I do. We are so lucky. Anything is achievable with DC in charge. He is our leader and don't it make my brown eyes blue. UTG!
