I cant see anywhere that the Club have said "We want Wycombe to be retrospectively relegated instead of us", I think this action is simply to gather the facts and possibly claim compensation from the FA \ FL if they haven't followed their own rules correctly. If there is a case to answer and we get a Sheff Utd style compo then great, it'll give us an additional financial advantage over the other Conference clubs.

How much did Sheff Utd receive? Obviously I wouldn't expect the amount Compo they got, but if the same principle in law applied to us and we could claim for loss of earnings I'm all for it. I can't imagine we are doing this for the fun of it and rules are to be followed. Hopefully as a result of this action the consequences of breaching this rule will be made clearer for all, thus stopping any bleating of ignorance after the event. Utg

A nice payout would be just what we need to buy a few nice players
maybe this is the idea?

A nice payout would be just what we need to buy a few nice players maybe this is the idea? I think a nice payout is exactly the idea here. We're just following the age old principle of "ask for more than you than you'd be happy with", much more likely to get an outcome you're genuinely pleased with. Sadly this will be lost on the average fans of other clubs around the country who see us as poor losers crying over our relegation and trying to wriggle out of it. Damage is done there I'm afraid.

I think that it is absolutely right to follow it up and try and recoup any damages/losses if ruled in our favour.
However it was and is utterly embarrassing how public and heavy handed we made it, when their is virtually no chance of us staying up and it could all have been done on the relative quiet
We just look like we are going down kicking and screaming, and next season all these teams will want to beat the team that doesn't think it should be here even more

DC needs to keep building a squad capable of winning the Conference. In the unlikely event of us being reinstated to League 2, that same squad would still be capable of a mid-table finish.

It would be negligent of the board not to follow up on this. I don't think we Weill reverse relegation, but a bigger fine for Wycombe, points off for them next season, and £500k compensation for us (half our loss due to relegation) would be fine by me!
