Why you won't be hearing from any of the players in the Bristol Rovers squad for rest of the season
Bristol Rovers boss Darrell Clarke has activated an annual gagging order on his players as they prepare to joust for an unlikely top six finish.
Clarke issued the banning order on all of his players in the run-ins as they secured back-to-back promotions in the last two seasons.
And with the possibility still alive that Rovers could still book a place in the top six, Clarke has now told the media that his players will only be doing their talking on the pitch between now and the end of the season.
"Players say boring stuff towards the end of the season," said Clarke. "It is the same old stuff and I want them to concentrate on playing football.
It is something I do from time-to-time to keep the players focused solely on the games.
"I'd rather the players do their talking on the pitch on a Saturday afternoon than into a microphone at the training ground.
"It is not something I do to be funny with the press. It is simply a case of doing something that I feel gives us the best chance of winning football matches."

There seems to be more and more things every week that are comparable with the last two years. 9 to go you never know

That confirms that DC had not given up on the playoffs. He is spot on saying that the players just spout the same old cliches When's the playoff final?

I think that's the case with most players and managers nowadays. Most people don't really say what they think nowadays because they are too worried about being controversial or getting themselves into trouble.

Not sure who was the most outspoken player we've had
