It is a sh1thole and has to be one of the worst grounds in the league. HTE. 30/3/17. You stole that from the footballing encyclopedia of UK stadia. Been saying it for years, sadly.

I think the Mem gets a hard time. There are grounds which are just as bad if not worse in the Football League. At York last year, admittedly not in the league anymore, I thought I was going to catch tetanus. Exeter is pretty poor too.
That said at League One level we do seem to stick out like a sore thumb. And if we want to progress we do need a new stadium and I'm not sure redeveloping the Mem will suffice.

Herefords ground was one of the worst I've seen, went there quite a few years ago now and the terrace behind the goal actually had cow pats on it, charming!

I think the others saw her last week. Don't blame us, we just go to whose the cheapest Come on now. There's a joke and then there is taking it a step too far Your mum jokes are completely within the realms of football banter. If he gives it, he can take it.

We have never in our history had 2 promotions followed by a promotion push but we cant sell out which i find a bit poor and to me is a legitimate issue. People have made good arguments about the difference a new ground will make and maybe they are correct,i hope so. Do you need to drive to the Mem? Park at the Mem? Have you tried to buy seats at the Mem recently? Or bought food there? Or tried to get a drink in the bar? Have you actually been there yourself? because if you need to ask why people won't go there, I can't believe you've been. Maybe you could bring someone new along to see what their unblinkered view of the place is? I've done all these things and frankly I f**king hate the Mem and am ashamed to bring people along. It's a shithole and has to be one of the worse grounds in the football league. All this stuff is very obvious to pretty much all of us, yet you don't seem to see any of it. Thus, people draw the conclusion you are winding us all up. It's a difficult view to defend. Ok, I`ll admit to a conflict of interest here. Bluebutterfly is a mate of mine. I`ve been to quite a few away games with him, and I can tell you this; he is Gas through and through. A season ticket holder, Hugo, so you`ll have to revise at least one of your beliefs. So, to call him a City fan is utterly laughable. I`ve seen him when City lose, and he is one happy dude. Personally, I think his thread here is a valid one. As for jokes about his mother, she died of cancer some years ago. Perhaps we could have jokes about that too.

I'm not doubting he's a Rovers fan, but the tone of some of his posts seem confrontational almost to the point of being designed to wind people up on here deliberately. That's what I'm struggling with.

Ive got a season ticket in the blackthorn end,i park near the TA centre,my dad used to go with me sometimes but he stopped when they made pensioners go to the office instead of straight through turnstiles. im more of a drinker after the game but your right its too much hassle before a game anyway. We do need a new ground,im just not over confident about the attendances we will get when/if we get one.

If its done right we might not need to fill it, as long as its getting used most days income generated will allow us more to play with under FFP and then more success on the pitch will put more bums on seats.
If its good enough for Darlington,...oh wait...
Personally I would 'worry' about filling it when its built, as the club can never progress without a decent sized stadium, minimum 20k capacity.

People who say we don't need a new stadium are either deluded or don't understand that we NEED the revenue streams which we don't have currently.
Infact getting everything right with regards to revenue streams/ownership is exactly what's holding the project up by the sounds of it.
