Damn , I really want LJ to score but the constant starts for him smack of DC's ritual stubbornness a la Kelle Roos
Easter had poked a few in , I'd rather he started , took his chances or not then turn James loose, who at 22 and fresh, should then be able to open a tired defence up with 30 mins To go
I know we are all armchair managers but with not much to play for, maybe it's time to mix it up and see if it works
Mathematically we are L1 next season, use the next 5 games wisely

Spot on this week Steve. Harrison back on the bench yesterday so maybe worth giving him a go now? I feel like LJ has had his chance

Yeah I really hope we try and win these last 5 games If we don't make the play offs then I really hope we only just miss out not fall away to the bottom half.

Spot on this week Steve. Harrison back on the bench yesterday so maybe worth giving him a go now? I feel like LJ has had his chance I'd start with Harrison and Easter next game. All the hard work of Gafney and James in the world isn't enough and if Bodin has an off game we usually don't look like scoring, Easter had more attacking threat in ten minutes than either of them had all game on Saturday.

Worth remembering that we, the fans, are last-in-line in the football food chain. It's the Club (owners) who decide things. Doesn't matter if you're ragbag Rovers or wealthy Arsenal, the rules are the same.

I might be wrong but i think we set up for coventry in the same way as we did at bolton and oxford just didnt perform on the day?

I find it incredible that we are experiencing the 'end of season feel' when we are only 6 points off the play offs to the Championship with 5 games to go.
I don't really understand it, however unlikely It may be.. Not sure it would be the case at many other clubs in our current position. Maybe we all realise how spoilt we've been.
The dream is on. Don't agree with the mentality of 'we'll just challenge next season' - nothing's guaranteed and it will be a tougher division.

Steve
Pretty well summed up, as my mate said in the bar afterwards "we have played far better than that & lost". The record books will show a two nil home win and three points gained.
Shrewsbury were a poor side defensively and only poor decision making/striking saved them from a hammering. Their managers griping was typical of a man under pressure, the lad sent off was booked for a proffesional foul (bringing BB down from behind). Then he lunged in on the Keeper who already had the ball under control, stupidity at best.
The penalty was stonewall; he has shoved him over in the box.
All in all onwards to the Dons this Saturday, another 3 points could make the final run in quite exciting.

Blue flutterby, not been a great fan of yours as you would have noticed. However I have given you a like for that as I totally agree with it

It really bugs me how un-ambitious some of our fans are.It seems that if we are on the same level as Bristol City (meaning them coming down to league one) they are happy! WTF? I don't for the life of me believe DC or Wael feel this way, but completely understand that both have one eye on next season plans already for a top 6 push. If we are only aiming to be the best club in Bristol and just better than BCFC then we ain't going to be that good,or go very far as a football club. If we win our remaining five games will make the playoffs,as others will slip up. Question is will we win all our games?

We don't know what budget was made to DC or the funds available to him in January.Did he choose not to spend it in order to get value for money?? I don't for the life of me believe that he was given nothing or peanuts ,but would bet it wasn't on pantysdown level of spending.

I think if they really wanted to go for promotion then they would have gone all out to replace Taylor in January, as most clubs would look to do when the best striker leaves.
We struggled to cement a play off place with Taylor but with the addition of Lumley and Sweeney I believe we would still had something to play for after the Millwall game had he stayed. With him gone it almost certainly ended our hopes.
Maybe DC pinned too much on Luke James, if he was the answer then surely he would have featured more than he did prior to Taylors departure?
Its been a great season when you look at how far we have come in such a short space of time, but part of me says this was a missed opportunity as apart from Sheffield Utd and Bradford the rest have all looked average.

He had the cash to splash but was unable to do it as prices were inflated (and not 'value for money' DC's words)
