These 2 young men have been totally immense for bristol rovers since we signed them in the january transfer window. Our pre season signings were frankly pretty average at best but these 2 have been totally outstanding. Can we get them next season? in a way its a test of the clubs status and pulling power if we can or cannot sign these 2 lads. Have we got the clout to sign the young keeper who has won us over with his decisive confidence or not? Sweeney might be going to a championship club on loan next season but can our club convince stoke city that maybe he would be better off here with us? thoughts?

I really hope so as they have been brilliant for us,i think sweeney will play more than 100 games in the premier league, just my opinion

No controversial thread topic? ? Your a funny f**k** but i do enjoy your posts. I stand by my more controversial posts because they are my honest opinion of things etc but im a very positive rovers fan that likes to express my views without worrying about others opinion.

Yeah, I love that flutterby will always say how much it wants the Rovers to go up and the sh** go down. Still do able. UTG!

They need their own songs to be belted out from the terraces in the final few games, just to show them how much we love them. UTG!

I voted Sweeney my YPOTY yesterday in the Supporters Club Shop.
It was a close run thing with Lumley.
It felt really odd voting for a loan player as player of the year though.

It would be fantastic if we could sign both players; however, both have probably greater aspirations than ourselves. I personally wish them the very best for the future. UTG

Can't see it myself. If Hartley is back for next season that wouldn't be enough for me. We need a dominant CB next to Lockyer otherwise he looks pretty average.

lumley is 3rd choice at QPR and probably more likely to sign on a permanent in the summer doubt hes going to be happy playing for QPR u21s when he knows he can walk into the starting line up of a league 1 team. sweeney is a different case but a season long loan is a realistic option.

If we made it to the playoffs this season would Lumley and Sweeney be eligable to play for us?

Had both been Rovers players since August then I genuinely believe we'd be a top 3 side. Absolute heroes, the pair of them.

Lumley we have a decent shout of I reckon even if it's another season long loan seeing as he's third choice behind two very good keepers.
Sweeney will be playing championship football next year and she have 0 chance of getting him imo.

Yeah have to agree with you there, the two big defeats against charlton and the millwall game have probably cost us a top six finish, but im happy to be looking up instead of down after what seems like years fighting relegation, well pleased to finish top ten or higher. Should have picked up 5 or 6 points from those four games if we hand been on-song. That would really have put us in the mix for the play-offs.

I'm sure most clubs can pinpoint games where they 'should' have picked up more points. Still cant believe Charlton whooped us twice and are right down there, then again if you leave opposition players unmarked time and time again anyone can beat you.
Its sort of bitter sweet having great loan players, if you cant get them on board next season then we are back to normal unless Burn or Partington have an impact.

As good as Sweeney is will he just "walk" into a Championship side next season or would he, & Stoke, prefer another good season in Div 1? I was confident we could sign Lumley but he's been so impressive lately you do wonder if QPR may now want to keep him, although perhaps he looks so good as we've become so accustomed to having sh1te goalies in recent years!
