I am surprised no-one has made a comment about the "open day" at The Mem, today.
There must have been many questions asked of players, management and directors.

(i did on player of the year thread but I'll repeat here)
good day at open training today, it's all about the kids and yet again everyone at the mem from management, owners, players were all there with an absolutely spot-on approach....
well done rovers....
as for the training.... well, i saw Luke James hit the net, actually well taken. i also witnessed a sublime gaffers back heel.... incredible.... i saw rovers V rovers which we won 1 nil due to a well taken slowly placed shot by monty.... but today I witnessed the mother of all skills....
forget Hugo Sanchez overhead kicks forget the cruyff turn forget Ronaldo's step overs forget zidanes marsielle turn
today I saw something much greater
Steve mildenhall has the ability to sign autographs whilst wearing goalkeeper gloves.... absolutely amazing

no, he had a super human ability to obtain individual's pens of various shapes and sizes....
it mattered not if they were 'ball point' or 'felt tip', mildy could just hold any pen in a Shakespeare like way and effortlessly craft his name on to any surface, be it a programme, a shirt, or a football whilst wearing gloves....
I'm sat at home tonight in shock of exactly what genius I witnessed today....

Can only echo the other commment about players, coaches, DC and Wael.
All of them had time for the kids, signing autographs and posing for pictures.
Managed to renew my season ticket as well. Club shop was doing a roaring trade, and my lad bought a Rovers football and got it signed by the players, DC, Stewie and Wael and throughly enjoyed himself.
Even managed to sneak a pic with DC myself as don't normally bother with that nonsense 😀
And I saw Luke James score!!

It has been discussed recently that our average attendances are over 2000 more than the last time we were in League One. I'm sure this is partly down to the success in the last couple of years and the excitement around the place of where the club is heading.
But I'm also sure that things like this must make a real difference. Having such a fantastic group of players and backroom staff that are always willing to give their time to the fans, in particular kids, is something that must have a big effect on them if they are just starting out as football fans and should help increase the numbers on side for years to come. Well done Wael, SH, DC and the club. UTG!

One thing I did hear on Radio Bristol from his interview there is that his wife and daughter came down from their home up north to watch as it's half term. That's a massive commitment from DC to live away from his family for so much of the year.

How was 'lazy and uninterested' Ellis? Still living off the 4 goals in one game probably.
