Tbf he was getting pelters in the conference either side of every goal. Our mob have a real problem when it comes to grudges/loyalty and suchlike. Ellis is very loyal and rarely misses a C*ty game when he's able. People seem to forget this. Trololol So which would you prefer him to do go to watch players at a higher level and maybe learn a few things or go out on the beer every night

I don't care who he goes and watches or what he does in his spare time. I only care about what he does at 3pm on a Saturday.

Ellis reminds me of the UWE, both have great potential but nothing has actually happened yet with both of them! Frustrating isn't it? Plus they are both giving me the shits! There is an argument to be had about whether Ellis is top-6 League 1 standard, and I know that this post is partly in jest, but 'nothing has actually happened yet' with Ellis? Really? A tad disrespectful after 30-odd goals for us including arguably the most important one in our history. If nothing has happened yet with him, then there must be an awful lot to look forward to!

Moving him to the left is an option that should be looked at . Wingers do not have to have lightening speed always besides he is quick enough. I seem to recall a mr Mehew doing pretty well when moved out wide as has Billy Bodin. Most fullbacks tend to be the smaller players on the pitch so to have a tall player at the back stick on crosses is certainly an advantage. At the start of the conference season dc made it quite clear he didnt see ellis as a winger, only as a striker and what an inspired decision it has proved to be,3 good seasons for the team and player and among the goals right the way through. That was three seasons ago and DC does change his mind about players on occasion. Still ,EH is the current number one striker. With potentially three new strikers coming in I suspect he wont hold that number one position long. So it might be in his best interest to exploit another position on the pitch as a back up.

To be fair quite a bit has happened with Ellis , he's scored goals at every level weve played at. Maybe he hasn't realised his potential yet or maybe he has and the level he's at is as far as he'll get. Only way to find out is give him a contract I suppose but I'm 50/50 to be honest.

Tongue and cheek comment blown out of proportion, I actually like Ellis.

When stadium talk gets a bit boring, an Ellis Harrison thread always livens things up a little, like a dash of Tabasco on a fried egg.
UWE is a doner kebab. You know you shouldn't, but after a few pints you just have to dig in.
Ellis is a Chinese. Love it when you have a good one, but always leaves you wanting more.
Chris Lines is a microwaved chicken tikka massala. Can be tasty, but so, so lazy.
DC is a lobster thermidor. A bit snappy, but make the most of it if served at your table.
The Beard is an all-you-can-eat buffet.
Easter is like a stilton. A good cheese going a bit mouldy.
Bodin is a pop-up gourmet burger bar. Young and vibrant but soon to move to London, and it just won't be the same.

Good assessment. Would add- he's also not a bad striker. Happy for him to remain upfront. That's your assessment. Would add- he's also not a striker. Happy for him to leave this summer. There you go.. fixed that for you. I've been pretty critical of Elis in the past. I feel he gets a fairer turn than gaffney- who I believe to be more affective. But Harrison is not far off becoming something expensive in this division. We need strikers, we should keep him. Hes not bad at this level. Just not great yet.

Ellis seems like a confidence player to me. He has all the attributes to be a Championship level striker, is still young and should keep improving with experience. I think if he were to leave we could end up regretting it in the long run. He'll probably end up in the Southern league now.
