The nightmare scenario would be that DC takes his back room staff with him, which is not that unusual, but then Klopp would bring his with him so no harm done. 😉

Wasn’t he the eccentric scientist who used to present “The Great Egg Race” in the early 80s? RIP.

Chelsea fans will get a trip to Wembley.....to see Spurs in the Prem. But you are right, it won’t be as cheap.

Being a dick. Deliberately trying to stir up issues for the other forum in Gaschats name. Creating multiple posts about the same thing. Provocative and flaming posting. Deliberately deleting and editing Mod posts. Ignoring a fair and nicely worded PM from a mod to ask him to stop the above. Posting the PM on the board and claiming a witch hunt. Then going on to post 5 or 6 more threads all about the same stuff repeated again. Think of it like a booking for persistent fouling. It's not the first time and this is not his first ban. Ban length is generally discussed in private and agreed by the mod team on an issue by issue basis. Being a dick is a banable offence? Bugger. Skimmed through this quickly and thought that said “bananable” offence, which puts a slightly different perspective on the punishment! 😮🍌

Yes. We’re going to teach them a lesson in total football and what it means to be a Gashead. 🙏

Just watched DC’s preview on YouTube which was followed by Paul Hurst doing the same. He said it was difficult to prepare his team to play against us because of DC’s willingness to change tactics, so that just goes to show how savvy our manager is in the war of small margins. I have a feeling that this one will start off tight, after the last encounter, then as soon as the first one goes in it will turn into a goal fest with the Gas just edging in front at the death. 🤞

Interesting that after all the debate on here he does actually mention “better stadium” as one of the contributing factors in a move, from a player’s perspective. Could this be a first? Genuine evidence in support of a supposition making it a verifiable fact! 😊

I feel sorry for DC, he is given a dog **** budget, told to make ends meet; players take one a look at the poor facilities, the poor wages and tell DC to do one, then generally he is only left with having to take bench warmers from academy's. DC is a proud fella and is left with the "we have been over achieving with conference league players" blah blah blah, imo its a miracle we are not already in the bottom four, DC is a hero, I just hope he manages to keep the club in Div 1, and Waq & Hani manage to keep him at the club in the summer. (Warning...pathetic attempt at humour alert) Didn’t Hamer say that DC’s most recent contract made him the highest paid manager the club have ever had, or something like that? If his salary is also contributing to the total wage bill then perhaps he should consider a pay cut to get the players he wants. 😉

The problem with the "rovers related" rule is where do you draw the line? Bury pushing the boat out pre-season is in many ways rovers related as they are rivals and people wondered how they got the funds. The "elephant in the room" thread is clearly rovers related to a greater and lesser degree depending on your outlook because we are a 2 club city and nothing can change that fact. People wouldnt post if they wernt interested which of course happens with many threads[ie they fizzle out quickly]. I agree with all of that. Unless it is about fitted kitchens virtually all other threads are in some way football related and I prefer the forum to have some breadth otherwise it can get a bit tedious going over the same topics again and again. I like the awful jokes, the grammar lessons, Jock’s gifs, the pantomime-esque banter and I kind of miss the competitive aspect of the song titles/lyrics association games which never hurt anyone. I don’t know about other people but I rarely venture outside the Gas Works tab as life is too short and there’s more than enough to read in this section. I would rather have threads about Bury or Bristol Sport Men’s Section losing than some of the bickering that goes on in “legitimate” threads.

Wow! What do people really expect from supporting a football club? Relax, it’s just a game of football which is there as entertainment (although I do accept that some people’s livelihoods depend on it) and every team has its ups and downs (Wednesday, Forest, Leeds, Coventry, Bolton, etc). We’re roughly in the middle of League 1, we score a fair few goals, there’s some excitement, there’s some awful defending, there’s agony and ecstasy in equal measure.
I bet the supporters of some of our more traditional foes, like Northampton, Bury, Swindon, Carlisle, Port Vale, Crewe, Wrexham, Tranmere, Hartlepool and Leyton Orient would gnaw off their own legs to be in our position. Look at where our recent adversaries Barnet and friends at Torquay are now!
I know we have much more potential and we’ve suffered a series of disappointments (although people should recognise that players are always transient) just when we thought things were looking up, however don’t miss the good in the present by clinging on to the past or a future that was someone else’s vision.
The lads might not be training on it yet, but the new owners have at least bought us a field which we can call our own (even if we have to lend them some jumpers for goalposts) and that hasn’t been something we can say for a very long time. It’s baby steps, but they are in the right direction and consistent with trying to evolve the club.
I chose Rovers because I preferred blue, much to my old man’s disappointment, and I don’t get to as many matches as I would like, but I can’t see myself ever falling out of love with my team no matter what they put me through. Just try and enjoy the ride. UTG.

I think we can now assume those accounts are absolute horseshite, one of them has just reported we have put in a bid to bring Taylor back! 👀 Taylor on loan until the end of the season. Deal or no deal? On the basis of Saturday’s reception I think Brett Pitman would be a more popular choice. 😂

.....Hopefully the transfer window will bring in the missing links. I would like to see Orrorin tugenensis on the left with maybe Ardipithecus ramidus on the right.
