Club Statement. Over the past few weeks, Bristol Rovers has been actively engaging with supporters on a possible new crest to positively represent the club moving forward.
It was felt that, after 25 years of the current logo, it could be time to modernise it. The existing option is also not particularly versatile and poses problems when it comes to applying to merchandise or using it through online channels. Finally, it was felt that the current pirate was more representative of an Admiral and the direction of the sword often leaves the crest off-centre.
The plan for this process has always been to be open and honest and to try and find a solution that all supporters could get behind.
To date, this process has involved three surveys to canvass opinions from all supporters on whether you would be open to change and what changes you would like to see.
The first allowed initial feedback to be shared on all aspects of the crest; this resulted in a strong resistance to a circular template-style crest and had a small majority of supporters that were open to change. As there was a majority, it was decided that the process would continue to see if a consensus could be gained.
The follow-up survey took the predominant themes that were mentioned in the initial surveys and gave some examples to further fuel conversation and input across three areas - shape, imagery and font. Again, there were clear preferences for one option in each category, with a majority of supporters in favour of each choice.
The third survey then pulled together the selected options into an initial concept crest, with a view to garnering further feedback to work towards a position where we could create a final crest through more in-depth focus groups.
However, within this final survey, for the first time, it was clear that the current route wasn’t the right path to go down. We have therefore taken the decision to halt the process and we will continue with the existing logo.
Since the release of this survey, we have been inundated with responses from supporters who have designed their own concepts and shared their own feedback. Thanks to all of those that have taken the time to develop these concepts and should any of these gain traction in the future, the club can re-open the process.
Thanks to all supporters for your continued support and cooperation.

The Memorial Ground is such an embarrassment for a team and fans within the large city of Bristol to be accommodated. A capacity of 9OOO+ is beyond a joke. God knows what visiting supporters must think! How on earth would Rovers' survive in the Championship? Bolton fans likened it to Chernobyl.Don't think we would be allowed in the Championship unless there was a proviso to sort it within a given time period.

If you're a designer why not design something better? That’s just plain rude and totally uncalled for !!!! 🤫 Topper isn't known for his diplomacy.

That makes for very depressing reading. Imagine being told 16 years ago that would be the pinnacle of the ground's upgrade. No matter who's been in charge for however long it's pretty disgraceful. This is a large, popular city and thats the best we can manage. It's almost as though we've got no sense of pride in our surroundings. Agree.Total Embarrassment and well over twenty years old.Makes I cringe.

On the local(Devon) news and showed him in Argyle kit so guess he has been at Muff in the past. Also showed Torquay conceding 5 Sat and they are at Derby FA Cup replay tomorrow.Gary Johnson has a very tough job there to keep them in the National league. Scunthorpe and Oldham too near the trap door. Back to Alex ,the TV promoted the crowd funding appeal which is good.Very best wishes Alex for a full recovery.

Recall running the line at Spotland( Rochdale) when their match Day programme wasn't the normal glossy type but a duplicated effort. They had just been reprieved for the umpteenth time from Re election(Barrow dipped out as no-one wanted to travel that far on a wet tuesday night in Jan) and the old lady came into the changing room to say,'We didn't think we stood a chance of re election again so most of the staff were let go.They have taken me on as secretary and I love it so if I have done anything wrong don't report it just tell me'. Think if Rochdale was that wonderful, Gracie Fields wouldn't have lived in Capri!!!!!

If only it was "a plan" to move from the Mem. It was once a plan however the club have now officially downgraded it to "an ambition"...won't be long before it's returned to it's usual club status of "a fantasy* Although I love certain aspects of our quirky ground, the fact I am most unlikely to see us in a new stadium in my lifetime is rather depressing. 50 years supporting the Gas and still waiting for a ground of our own to be proud of Over 60 for me.Eastville,Twerton and now the Mem.Would settle for one new stand meanwhile.

Probably play the game at Leigh sports centre, the home of Man Utd women’s team, 13000 capacity. Is that a registered EFL stadium ? Real clubs have to state their stadium and have all relevant standards . Been there.Much better than a ground in Horfield I have also been to in respect of; toilets, disabled and catering facilities.

Attachment DeletedTruro City on the local news down here this evening having had plans for a new stadium back in Truro approved. They sold their old ground and have been playing in Plymouth( not Argyle's ground) for some time.Being financed in conjunction with the Local Council. Mock up model shows how it will look initially but although great for the Southern League perhaps wouldn't be enough for EFL requirements. In other news down here ,Muff manager voted League one M O Month for the second month running.
