Think its a good ideal, bit of thinking outside the box, they said they didn't want to have to replace all the coaching staff every time they changed a manager. This way the new coach will have no ties to the manager and could be in position for years. 'Good Ideal'. Classic Bristolian.Love it.

Wycombe Wanderers are excited to kick off a new season by securing a move to the Harlington training facilities in West London. Formerly the training base of Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers, Harlington will become the new location for the club’s first-team operation as well as enabling the development of a new academy. The site is owned by Imperial College London and boasts 18 full-size grass pitches and a floodlit FIFA certified 3G astro, as well as a gymnasium, canteen, changing rooms, office and classroom space, meeting and video analysis rooms and a media studio. www.wwfc.com/news/2024/june/10/wycombe-wanderers-secure-harlington-training-facilities/Great to see so many progressing but can't help casting an envious eye.18 full size pitches!!! Wow.

Recall when I posted that I had once recommended a player in Staffs called Tony Hemmings.Roy Dolling replied saying they would have him watched but we took too long and he promptly signed for Wycombe.Pirate then told me about Tony Hemming's SON so he was way ahead.Superb knowledge.

Recall being on Police duty at Vale when Argyle travelled there in great numbers.Loads of Vale fans left early despite winning but there were no green clad Muff supporters leaving early after their long journey.Always surprised when fans leave before the final whistle as they won't be sure of the final score. At Eastville as a 15 year old I had to leave early to get by bus to Totterdown to do my paper round!!!!!!!! In the Conference the Gas travelled to Altrincham on the day of the match but a pop festival near Wolverhampton caused major delays on the M6 but they did make it on time. Also recall that day(Ryan Brunt was awful) the home team had to make a late change as one of their players couldn't get time off work!!!! Welcome to the Conference!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On the same coach as Richard Walker today going from Beer to Devon FA HQ at Newton Abbot for the Devon FA Cup final. His boyish elation at Beer Albion's 3-1 victory was brilliant.

I would like the home kit to be as traditional as possible next year and every year. It's what we are, like Blackburn Rovers and their halves. It can't be tinkered with. They can do what they want with the away kit and the designers can have a field day. I'm quite happy with that...it's a bit of fun and doesn't mess with any heritage. Blackburn always look good and always have white shorts.

Bristol Rovers have suffered an early setback in the transfer window with summer target Ronan Curtis opting to join Port Vale, and Bristol Live understands the League Two club outbid a number of League One sides to secure the winger.
Curtis held talks with the Gas earlier this month but has decided to move to Vale Park where he signed a three-year deal as they seek an instant return to the third tier following relegation under Darren Moore.
As a result, Vale’s financial offer for the 28-year-old and promise of a three-year deal exceeded what Rovers were willing to negotiate, in-part, due to Curtis’ injury history as his final 12 months at Portsmouth were plagued by knee issues. The Gas were also not the only club in League One exploring the idea of signing the Republic of Ireland forward with Vale understandably feeling they have pulled off something of a transfer coup.
Curtis had only made his comeback to first-team football in January after joining AFC Wimbledon on a short-term deal and after five goals and two assists in 17 appearances, the Dons were keen to extend his agreement but are another club to have missed out to Vale.
