Hopefully solar panels wonât pay back before we leave the Mem.
And thatâs not a wish over the performance of the panels. Thatâs a wish that the Fruit Bowl comes in on time.
Pay back would be at least 5 years for bog standard stuff. Youâd want a few more years to make it worth it. If itâs in roof stuff itâll be more expensive than cheaper increasing that pay back even further.
Doesnât matter if weâre using it we can sell it back to the grid.

Shame we can't rely on our own club to keep the fans updated I agree. I know it says gorringe will address the fans about it in the programme notes Saturday but we don't live in the 1980s anymore we have other means of being able to communicate with the fans in what is actually fairly big news for us. Would be nice if it was possible to buy one of these programmes we hear of

Something else I noticed when up the mem today was the dugouts were in the car park. Must be splashing out on new ones of those as well!!! Deserves its own thread that. đ Hopefully they donât put them back in with stickers on them so supporters canât see through them. Not that I want to see in the dugout but it really obstructs the viewing experience on the lower steps of the east terrace behind the dugouts.

How many times did we actually reach capacity ? Bit of a silly response as you well know we need more seats in the stadium as lots of people donât like standing or canât for 90 mins. Pretty sure youâve said similar in the past. Youâve yet again managed to come at this from an anti club perspective, no surprise there đ Funny thing is if you take the post as it reads itâs almost as if KP is agreeing with what I was getting at. However I think KP misunderstood what I meant and turned it into a sleight against the club. What I meant was that the capacity of the stadium is no different to before, and therefore itâs irrelevant to the planning application.

Not if they're leased solar panels. For an owner occupier they're then a nightmare when you come to try and sell your house. Donât think thereâs anyone in the game for that anymore since they did away with FIT payments a few years back. You have to buy outright now but then thereâs nothing to worry about now from a resale perspective but financial risk is self contained. I had solars installed last month and was quoted a 5 year pay back. At present though Iâd be happy with a 10 year pay back but thatâs probably because the weather has been sh**e since they went on. 5.4kwp system and Iâm getting 32kwh on a good summers day but on a cloudy rainy day itâs only like 3kwh. Which gives an idea what winter will be like! Itâs only any good for self use putting into the battery at the minute as well - I canât sell back to the grid as after itâs installed thereâs 2-3 months of bureaucracy to hoop through before you can do that. In my instance the installers keep cocking it up as well. Weâll need to be at the Mem for another 7-8 years at least for it to be worthwhile Iâd say.

And to top it all off itâs not exactly a massive departure from what was there before and only a âtemporaryâ structure. Total capacity will be what was at the stadium 3 years ago anyway.

It's pretty blatantly obvious that it's going up as we speak. Those big cranes and the steel girders are a definite clue, I reckon. I can't believe that the club would be doing this unless they know something that most of us don't. Like they have the go-ahead in some form, verbal or otherwise. Wael al-Qadi May 2025: "Don't build a new stand without planning permission. I did it once, but I think I got away with it." The club are clearly saying balls to it, as they know starting building would get everyone talking/upset the neighbours, so i say once again why wont the club comment. Its not hard Example As you can see from images on social media, BRFC have started work on the construction on the new stand. Whilst planning permission has not yet been granted, and we are aware of the concerns of the local community the build is within previously agreed planning permissions (and following advice (if they have taken any)) we have decided to proceed. Although we wont be able to use the stand until a safety certificate is granted, starting the work now means it can be used as soon as possible. Season Ticket holders will be contacted at the appropriate time.Something like that. This sh** really isnt that hard. I can understand the club cracking on to an extent as I fully expect PP to be given as I said when the drawings were available as it is within previous agreed heights. Hopefully we won't be embarrassed have to take it down, but you never know. A calculated risk, but why is it so bloody hard for anyne at the club to talk to anybody. That's half of this bloody problem in the first place Except if we donât have PP then what weâre doing is a bit naughty and perhaps we donât want to create any ammunition for any future legal cases lest we get a slap on the wrist in the future.

Looks a darn slight better than the tents that were there before Iâm sure youâll agree. Oh lord yes. And my understanding is that due to the enclosed design, there should be less sound coming out of the stadium during matches, which should make most people happy. The tragedy here for everyone (or both sides if you want to view things in terms of sides), is that if this planning application had been made 6 months earlier and the planning application had time to go through, then their would barely* be any drama as the 'proposed'** new stand is well within the height limits previously agreed for the stadium. * some people would always complain. ** it feels weird to call a new stand "proposed" when you can point at it. If it would have gone through fine and thereâs no issue with it what exactly is the problem? Do you not realise youâre exactly in the camp of those âsome people will always complainâ? To the extent youâve gone onto a football forum to do said complaining.

Regardless of whether we should be putting the stand up, how much time are we actually saving by doing so, as I assume it cant be used until it gets a safety certificate? And would we need PP to be given before we can het that anyway? I assume we canât get the SAG to inspect it until itâs done so if it takes us 3 weeks to build it and also to get planning (completely made up dates before anyone gets worked up or turns it into gaschat fact) then itâll save us 3 weeks in turn!

Ummm... Has that Green Party guy, Dan, given his permission for this?! I'm not involved with the council, and can't give authority for anything. Have a clearer video of what's been put up: Thanks for sharing. Looks a darn slight better than the tents that were there before Iâm sure youâll agree.

Just need to put a similar construction of around 2k seats above the Thatchers End and we have a 15k stadium - submit planning now ready for next season. In all seriousness if we have big ambitions we should look at doing something like this. Perhaps with the talk of infrastructure we are?

Iâm tempted to put woke on the swearword filter list, for balance Iâd add snowflake and Gammon. Could you add "belter", "weapon", "melt" and a lifetime ban for the use of "jog on"? Thank you, Ageing Gas, BS3 đ Do one!

Surely the whole thing comes under the planning application and we canât just put a little bit up at a time?

Putting aside the fiasco with the south stand for a minute and assuming it gets put up with 20 games left. Letâs now assume that JCH costs us ÂŁ1.5mn in fees. And again letâs assume that it puts 3,000 on the gates as weâre immediately onto an auto promotion / possibly even title chase. Now letâs assume ÂŁ25 per ticket. Thatâs ÂŁ1.5mn in extra revenue returned before youâre even promoted. Donât worry about how much the fees cost because it could pay for itself. And where are you getting the seats from for the extra 3k? Them 3k seats being erected as we speak.
